Die 49" statt 48" sprachen schon dafür, dass da am Format etwas geändert wird, da man ja 77" schon angekündigt hat. Da man LCD aufgegeben hat, braucht man natürlich sofortigen Ersatz im Gamingsektor, indem die Margen noch hoch sind. Großteil der ausgebauten Kapazitäten soll ja dafür genutzt werden.
Im Gamingsektor sind Kompromisse bei der UHD-Auflösung auch verkraftbar, wenn dafür VRR und hohe Frameraten möglich sind.
Eine großangelegte OLED-TV-Offensive bei Samsung Visuals für 2023 verspricht das aber leider nicht, sofern man sich nicht doch noch mit LGD über einen WOLED-Zukauf einigen kann.

Vom Pixelpitch fehlen auch noch die 8K-Geräte um kleinere 4K-Größen zu fertigen. 4x 48" entspricht 1 x 97" und 4x 42" ca. 1x 83". Spätestens sobald Samsung Display 77" mit 8K vorstellt, werden auch die kleineren TV-Größen folgen. Dann wäre auch 39" mit UHD-Auflösung machbar.

Was aus 8k wird, bleibt abzuwarten

Der 77Z3 (wahrscheinlich mit Mikrolinsen entspr. dem Prototyp, der ja laut LGD schon von Abnehmern angefragt wurde) wurde doch schon registriert. Bei gesenkten Verbauch können die ja auch weiter produziert und eingeführt werden.
Man benötigt einen höheren Pixelpitch um kleine Größen mit UHD-Auflösung fertigen zu können und ein 8K-TV ist da ein entprechendes Indiz, selbst wenn es nur ein Prototyp wäre. Einen Premium-TV in 42" oder 48" wird kein Abnehmer mehr ohne UHD-Auflösung akzeptieren und irgendwie hat sich ja Samsung Visuals auf 8K als Verkaufsargument bei den QLED-LCDs eingeschossen. Samsung Display muss mit QD-OLED hier dann auch technologisch mitziehen können.

LCD-TVs bekommen nun halt auch einen stärkeren ABL bei gesenkter Vollflächenhelligkeit und dann könnte man solche Verbote evtl. auch umgehen und man fängt halt evtl. erst bei 75" mit 8K an. Die dürfen ja mehr verbrauchen.

Man wird bald sehen, ob die neue EU-Richtlinie nur ein Papiertiger ist oder tatsächlich Auswirkungen auf den Markt hat. In aktueller Form wird sicherlich keiner die 8K-TVs vermissen. Es fehlt bei TVs an Argumenten in Form von Inhalten (brillenloses 3D, Live-TV wie Sport) und Anwendungen (Multiview, Kameraüberwachung). Kein Hersteller konnte dem Konsumenten bisher sinnvoll vermitteln warum 8K besser sein soll, als die UHD-TVs.

UHD wurde ja letztendlich auch durch die Hintertür HDR verkauft, auch wenn beides nichts zwingend etwas miteinander zu tun hat. Bei 8K fehlt es an Reizpunkten, was Konsumenten triggert unbedingt so einen TV haben zu wollen.

We met with Samsung Display a the SMPTE conference in Hollywood where they were showcasing their current QD-OLED TV vs. a white OLED TV. The QD-OLED TV was the Sony A95K model while the white OLED TV was the C2 from LGE. 

While specifics of QD-OLED performance improvements will have to wait until the CES time frame, representatives did reveal that there will be a new and improved OLED stack that will increase brightness and contrast even higher.

Solche Vergleiche sind immer geschönt zu Gunsten des eigenen Angebots. Macht doch jeder Hersteller so. Das begann schon damals bei den Vergleichen von Plasma vs. LCD.

ja und ich weiß nicht wie du darauf kommst, dass ich das auf Sony beziehe, nur weil Samsung Display einen Sony TV hinstellt (dass Samsung Display und Samsung Visuals sich nicht grün sind, weiß doch mittlerweile jeder).
Samsung Display will die eigene QD-OLED-Technologie pushen. Somit ist man nun einmal auch kein unabhängiges Unternehmen oder Konsortium, sondern hat eine klare Agenda. Man wird sein Produkt nicht schlechter stellen, sondern dafür sorgen dass die Unterschiede größtmöglich zu den eigenen Gunsten ausfallen. Würde LGD und jedes andere Unternehmen doch genauso machen.
