Epik Empire at L-Sound for 1099€

I was going to order SVS PB12-NSD for my home theater in my living room.
Now I see the new Epik Empire dual-driver subwoofer on the homepage of L-Sound, and I wonder if that would be a better deal?
I know it costs 400€ more, but is it really worth, can it really give much more lower end than SVS?
Basically I'm looking for a real solid subwoofer, as my current top notch Genelec 7071A is going into another room and has to be replaced with a similar quality sub.
Someone mentioned that SVS driver just looks better - never been for optics, I really only care about quality.
So what do you think I should get?

Well I would choose the Epik Empire.

The Epik should be the far superior one in terms of sound quality and sound pressure level. As for extension it might be quite close to the PB12-NSD.
As far as I know the PB12-NSD does not have a ruler flat frequency response. So this should be similar to the fall off from the closed box design.

If you need more opinions I would recommend you head over to

avsforum and work your way through the Epik Subwoofer thread.

FYI only the last 50 or 100 pages are about the Empire though because Epik had a different line up before.

For what its worth the Epik Empire is "inspired" by the Seaton Sound Submersive which is very well known among US home cinema enthusiasts. You can read up on this one in the avsforum forum as well.

P.S. Warum auf einmal in englisch, nicht das es einen Unterschied macht aber ... ?

Hi,
denkt ihr dass 2 "Epik Empire" auch von der Leistung her an 2 x SVS PC 13 Ultras rankämen ????

Gibts wo Frequenzverläufe des Epik im Netz?

Es gibt auch ein Angebot direkt auf der Epik Homepage.
Zwei Epik Empire für USD 1.499 oder vier Epik Empire für USD 2.799.
Die Angebote sind ja wirklich heiß.
