FS: M-Audio Revolution 7.1 sound card.

Selling my year old revo, as I'm going for something better. This card has been modified with formidable AD8620 Opamps on all channels, increasing the dynamic range by 3 decibels measured on RMAA benchmarks.
Its a year old, and in excellent condition (well, hardly anything can happen to a sound card).

So, I'm looking for around 6.5K for this (negotiable).

Hi Zhopudey,

I wonder if you will be so kind as to help me, even though I am not a customer for your sound card

Can you advise me a good 2 channel sound card, with the following characteristics....

1. Its paper specs should be great. ( Low distortion & noise, wide freq response etc )

2. It may sound like crap, no problem

3. Low Price

Any suggestions ?

My aim is to use it as a PC Based Spectrum analyser and oscilloscope, with external software.

I'd read your earlier post about this. IIRC, you needed a card which could go beyond 20Khz. None of the regular consumer or even pro cards that I know of support this. They are all 20-20. If that is ok for you, then you could try out the EMU 0404 -

Quiet expensive here:( It costs just $70 in the US. I have this card as well, and it even sounds amazing, apart from having great specs

Your link indicates Rs 6300 by Mail order... also probably an old (higher) price for the EMU 0404 ?

Read on the net .... Absolutely GLOWING tributes to the EMU 0404.

However, a couple of niggles ....

1. No Mic input, so I cant use my PC for voice chats or Skype !

2. Does not support 192K... so cant use for DVD-A playback / recording ... Actually, I have No Idea if ANY audio card will enable me to playback DVD-As on a PC DVD Drive and receive atleast an analog Audio out.... I think it will almost CERTAINLY not permit a digital out ...

Can someone throw light on the above points ?

If you want the whole kaboodle, you'll need to go for 1820M

And I think 0404 supports 192k playback. Its just that the DSP engine doesn't support 192k. Not sure about DVD yet. Afaik, only the Creative cards can play DVD-A if you use the supplied player.

Just picked up a M Audio - Delta 1010 LT Sound Card from L Road [Amp Nuts recommendation].

I actually needed a sound card with a xlr balanced out for my active speakers. I sure hope this works !!!!
I now have to try and install it correctly.
Fingers are X-ed.....
