Also Infos zur Messe bitte hier hinein.

LG ELECTRONICS UNVEILS NINE LCD 1080P FULL HDTVS, INTEGRATES PREMIUM STYLING AND ADVANCED FEATURES

Company Introduces 2007 Line, Delivers Enhanced Picture Quality,
Increased Integration, Innovative Design at 2007 CES

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7, 2007 – Introducing one of the industry's broadest assortments of liquid crystal display (LCD) high-definition television (HDTV) models, LG Electronics (LG) showcased its expansive lineup of 20 LCD TVs – led by nine LCDs with Full HD 1920 x 1080p display capability – at the 2007 International CES® (Booth #8214, Central Hall, Las Vegas Convention Center).

With enhanced contrast ratio, TruWide Viewing Angle and Simple Link connectivity, LG's LCD HDTVs offer consumers a vivid, life-like viewing experience. By driving integration, ease-of-use and premium designs, LG's LCD line up is a high-end solution for consumers looking for the best product for their home.

LG's 2007 LCD line reflects the company's global leadership as the world's largest flat panel producer and as a leading developer of advanced flat panel display and digital HDTV technologies. LG's 2007 LCD line includes five main series of LCD products offering a range of sizes from 20- to 57-inches:

LC7 Series offers consumers the widest range of sizes from 26- to 47-inches (the 47-inch unit is Full HD 1080p), and includes LG Simple Link, enhanced contrast ratio of 5,000:1 and advanced TruWide Viewing Angle technology.

LB4D Series includes 32-, 37-, 42- and 47-inches and features TruMotion Drive, a third HDMI input and USB Media Host for playback of digital photos (JPEG) and music (MP3). The 47LB4D also features Full HD 1080p display resolution.

LB5D Series includes screens in 37-, 42-, 47- and 52-inches, all with Full HD 1080p resolution, USB Media Host and 3 HDMI inputs.

LY3D Series (47-, 52- and 57-inches) combines Full HD 1080p resolution with TruMotion Drive and wide color gamut for the ultimate picture quality and viewing experience.

In addition, LG offers the LS7D Series which includes 20- and 23-inch LCDs. These two widescreen HDTVs incorporate ATSC/NTSC/QAM clear tuners.
FULL-HD ENHANCED PICTURE QUALITY
LG's nine LCD HDTVs with 1920 x 1080p "Full HD" display capability address the growing demand for the best possible resolution. With sizes ranging from 37- to 57-inches, LG provides consumers with a number of Full HD size options to best fit their needs.

All models 32-inches and larger offer enhanced performance by incorporating the latest Super IPS panel with TruWide Viewing Angle technology. TruWide Viewing Angle, maintains a more uniform contrast ratio, and minimizes color shift and distortion, even at extreme viewing angles up to 178 degrees.

Select models also incorporate TruMotion Drive, 120Hz panel technology, which improves moving picture response time for clearer moving picture images. The new LY3D series also features an improved wide color gamut expanding displayable colors to 92 percent of the NTSC spectrum offering a wider range of natural colors and providing consumers with a greater overall viewing experience.

Every model includes LG's exclusive XD EngineTM technology that takes low-resolution analog signals to near high-definition levels and also improves digital signals to provide consumers crisp images. And with enhanced contrast ratio offering a deeper black level, consumers will experience a better overall viewing experience.

INCREASED INTEGRATION AND FUNCTIONALITY
To enhance ease-of-use, all new LG LCD TVs 26-inches and larger incorporate "LG Simple Link" connectivity, allowing control of other LG Simple Link compatible equipment, such as DVD players or home theater systems. The units are connected with a regular HDMI cable, and use the HDMI-CEC standard to enable the user to control other components via on-screen menus or directly from each component.

All large screen models (26-inches and larger) include a minimum of two HDMI with HDCP inputs with step-up models adding a third input, providing flexibility for additional digital components. Further, many models incorporate USB Media Host to play digital music and photo files.

INNOVATIVE DESIGN
LG's award-winning design team elevates the look of the new product line with a high-glossy black finish and eye-catching designs. LG's LB5 LCD Series incorporates 0.3mm micro-perforated speaker grills for a maximum polished look without losing the robust, powerful sound. With a sleek and slim high-end look, LG's LCDs provide both elegance and innovation in one package. Additionally, the LC7, LB5 and LY3 Series incorporate a wave-design at the bottom of the panel, providing a high-end look and simple accent design. 2007 models feature overall depth reduction with some models as slim as 3.1-inches.

TOSHIBA DRAMATICALLY ENHANCES REGZA™ LCD FLAT PANEL TV LINE CAPITALIZING ON MOMENTUM FROM SUCCESSFUL BRAND LAUNCH

Positioned to continue expanding its share in the LCD TV market, Toshiba introduces
13 new REGZA models offering larger screen sizes, state-of-the-art picture technologies
and beautiful high-gloss designs

CES, LAS VEGAS – JANUARY 7, 2007 – Toshiba America Consumer Products, L.L.C. ("Toshiba") announced today its newly enhanced LCD flat panel line at CES 2007. In a move designed to build on the momentum from its May 2006 REGZA brand launch, Toshiba is rolling out 13 new REGZA models including new high level picture technologies, larger screen sizes and beautiful new high-gloss cosmetic designs.

Toshiba's REGZA LCD line includes new models ranging from 26" diagonally measured all the way up to 57" diagonally measured – the 52" and 57" screen sizes are new and on display at CES. New industry leading enhancement technologies found in the line include PixelPure3G™, DynaLight™, ColorBurst™, ClearFrame™ and CE-Link™.

"The acceptance of REGZA in the marketplace has been stunning," said Scott Ramirez, Vice President of Marketing. "Our market share in 32"+ LCD has nearly tripled in just six months. The combination of high quality you can trust, leading technology to take you into the future, and true consumer value, is making REGZA the smart choice."

For 2007, Toshiba has enhanced overall image quality yet again, creating a new line of REGZA LCD TV with picture quality that is truly second to none. In addition to its continued commitment to image quality, Toshiba has now focused on creating cabinetry that will also set REGZA apart. All new 2007 REGZA models now feature beautiful high-gloss black cabinetry with Toshiba's slim SoundStrip™ speaker technology. SoundStrip enables more compact cabinetry, without sacrificing the big home theater sound, creating a more modern high-class look.

REGZA 720p – HL67 & LV67 Series
Toshiba's REGZA line includes six 720p models ranging from 26" diagonally measured to the new 42" diagonally measured. These televisions include new advanced Toshiba technologies such as PixelPure3G and DynaLight. The new Toshiba PixelPure3G advanced 14-bit internal digital video processing offers 4,096 levels of gradation for 16 times the gradation levels of standard 8-bit systems, and now creates cleaner more natural images by incorporating new enhanced MPEG noise reduction technology. Unlike standard LCD panels, the new CineSpeed™ panels incorporate DynaLight dynamic backlight control. This system works with PixelPure to monitor the brightness of the incoming video signal, and then adjust the backlight intensity to maximize contrast. This system creates a dynamic contrast that is up to 5X that of the original panel contrast, significantly improving black levels for deep images in virtually any viewing environment.

For 2007, REGZA 720p models truly stand out with beautiful high-gloss black cabinetry, currently uncommon in this category. Plus, the entire 2007 REGZA line also includes ATSC/QAM digital tuning, SRS WOW™ sound, a PC input, and three HDMI™ inputs for simple and complete all-digital connectivity.

Toshiba will also offer two REGZA LCDVD™ models in 26" diagonally measured and 32" diagonally measured sizes. These models offer all of the advanced technologies of the REGZA 720p TV models, plus a built-in DVD player with internal upconversion to 720p for HD display.

REGZA 1080p Full HD – HL167 Series
Toshiba continues to expand its 1080p offering and is adding a 52" diagonally measured LCD model to its REGZA 1080p Full HD line-up, which already includes 42" and 47" diagonally measured models.

2007 REGZA 1080p Full HD models all accept 1080p input signals and include enhancements such as ColorBurst, and CE-Link (HDMI – CEC). While a standard LCD TV may only reproduce 72% of the NTSC color gamut, ColorBurst is a wide color gamut LCD that can reproduce 90%+ for 25% more color. REGZA 1080p Full HD models now provide both enhanced resolution and increased color depth for richer colors and more realistic images. CE-Link allows two-way control between the TV and applicable source devices, such as HD DVD, through the HDMI cable. The user can use the TV remote to control the source devices, or the source devices to control the TV, allowing simplified operation. Because no IR is needed, the source devices can be placed in a cabinet or closet, which is perfect for flat panel TV applications. To ensure flexible remote connectivity of non CE-Link source devices, Full HD models also include an IR Pass-Through jack.

2007 REGZA 1080p Full HD models feature new step-up high-gloss black cabinetry that further differentiates the 720p and 1080p Full HD series. These models also include Toshiba's Native Mode, which provides clean 1080p pixel-for-pixel display without any overscanning.

Cinema Series® REGZA 1080p Full HD – LX177 Series
In addition to the many enhancements made throughout the new REGZA line, Toshiba is proud to offer four new Cinema Series REGZA 1080p Full HD models in 42", 46", and new 52" and 57" diagonally measured screen sizes – 57" is the largest flat panel TV Toshiba has offered yet. In addition to the features and benefits of all the new REGZA models mentioned above, 2007 Cinema Series REGZA models also feature new ClearFrame 120 Hz anti-blur technology. This advanced technology doubles the frame rate from 60 frames per second to 120 frames per second using Motion Vector Frame Interpolation, virtually eliminating motion blur without adding flicker or reducing image brightness. This makes Cinema Series REGZA the perfect choice for fast action movies and sports. The Cinema Series REGZA HDMI connections also include Deep

Color and XVycc technology for further enhanced color space.

Cinema Series REGZA 1080p Full HD models also feature a new and innovative premium cabinet design with new SoundStrip2 technology. This technology utilizes an acoustic chamber within the set to develop rich bass, natural voices and crisp highs, all with a further reduced cabinet height enhancing the overall Cinema Series design.

In addition, Cinema Series REGZA models target high-end home theater applications with connectivity such as an IR input and a THINC™ RJ-45 connection, plus Virtual Dolby® sound and a new 6-Item A/V illuminated universal remote.

Philips propels innovation to center stage at the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show

LAS VEGAS – A trendsetter in the development of innovative consumer technologies, Philips today announced a new range of products that will elevate consumers' entertainment experiences with unparalleled levels of design, quality and freedom of content. Showcased at the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Philips' fresh lineup – which ranges from FlatTV™s and unconventional sound systems to life-like gaming experiences – delivers relevant innovation into the hands and homes of consumers. Technology exists to help make consumers' lives easier and more productive. Philips believes in simplicity and is committed to delivering products and solutions that are easy to experience, designed around consumers and advanced.

"The 2007 Consumer Electronics Show provides us with an excellent opportunity to showcase a broad range of entertainment innovations that are pertinent to today's consumer," said Stewart Muller, president of Philips Consumer Electronics, North America. "Our newest products emphasize a deeper entertainment experience, free consumers from the existing constraints of technology and are backed by well-established partnerships to deliver the most dynamic solutions on the market. We ensure that what we bring to the consumer brings simplicity to their everyday life."

Philips' innovation in consumer experiential research enables it to discover, open and create new consumer-focused and relevant product categories. The company places an emphasis on the lifestyle of the consumer with a focus on technology to simplify and enhance day-to-day experiences. Watching a movie, making a long-distance call or playing a video game all take on a new approach with smart, sophisticated designs and intuitive operation that delivers the ultimate flexibility.

Total Immersion
Ten years ago, Philips publicly unveiled the world's first Plasma FlatTV. Since then, Philips has reinvented the FlatTV category with its unique Ambilight™ technology. In fact, last November Philips celebrated an exciting milestone having produced its' one millionth Ambilight FlatTV at the manufacturing and design center in Bruges, Belgium. The new line up of Ambilight FlatTVs includes sets that boast 1080p resolution and incorporate Philips' latest picture quality enhancements through its Perfect Pixel HD Engine™. Utilizing this technology, each pixel of the incoming picture is enhanced to better match the surrounding pixels, resulting in a more natural picture. Artifacts and noise in all sources from multimedia to standard TV to highly-compressed high-definition (HD) are detected and reduced ensuring, that the picture is clean and razor sharp.

The Ambilight effect is now created by an innovative LED light source to generate more saturated colors, consume less power and provide a more compact design. This year, Philips has expanded the Ambilight line to include a 32-inch, 47-inch and the company's first 52-inch LCD FlatTV.

Ambience creates a superior dimension in the home theater experience. Philips adds another dimension to the ambient concept with Ambisound™ - a wall-mountable, integrated home theater system with an elegant and functional design. The perfect complement for a FlatTV display on a wall, Ambisound immerses the listener in an incredible sound experience.

The HTS8100 system envelops the listener with full, multi-channel surround sound from just one bar of speakers and a single subwoofer. It delivers a deep, rich sound while reducing the clutter in a home theater environment.

An evolution of Philips' multi-year research into ambient intelligence, amBX™ heightens the senses of sound, sight and touch in a PC game. The sensory enhancements produce a range of external effects while playing an encoded game. Stop playing the game, start living the game with these cutting-edge peripherals. The arrival of amBX not only enhances immersion for gamers, but unleashes a venue of creativity for designers. Game developers can now add new layers to the sensory experience beyond dynamic visuals. Several developers have already launched amBX-enabled games. New releases and previously issued games are expected to join this growing catalog.

Liberating content
Guided by the vision of ultimate personalization and unleashing content, portability has become a critical component in Philips' strategy. The company's portfolio of products continues to take the lead in providing people access to their entertainment and information whether at home or on the move.

Philips' new portable DVD line boasts versatility and mobility in one simple package. Each device can play a broad range of video-based media and features a memory card reader, which also can display digital photos. One new line even supports video through iPod™ docking, allowing users to play and view entertainment virtually anywhere and accessing CDs, DVDs plus music and videos stored on iPods.

With Philips' new 7-inch and 9-inch PhotoFrame™ line, consumers can free digital memories from their computer - where precious moments are stored but rarely seen - and share them with family and friends. New to the range this year is the advanced Smart Album™ software. This exclusive system helps users manage albums and set up, adjust and add transition effects to slideshows.

A survey commissioned by Philips revealed that Americans frequently enjoy music all around the home, and in increasingly personal ways. Nearly one-third of all respondents revealed that – thanks to multi-room audio devices – they enjoy listening in the locations they choose. Roughly 45 percent of American home listeners want to enjoy music in the living room, but are just as likely to listen in the bedroom, kitchen or even the bathroom.

Philips has addressed the growing interest for multi-room music enjoyment with its Streamium™ Wireless Music System. Easy to operate, the Philips Wireless Music Center freely and intuitively stores, manages and shares digital music with Wireless Music Stations that can be set up around the house. These music centers convert audio CDs into MP3 music files and store these on an 80 GB hard disk (up to 1550 CDs of music) to stream music around the home. The Wireless Music Center allows consumers to listen to the same songs in every room, a different selection for each room or enjoy any combination in between.
Philips conveys relevant innovation with 2007 product line

Effective Collaboration
Philips continues to align with partners for explosive potential and growth in the coming years. According to a new eMarketer report, the number of households using VoIP for phone calls will climb from 5.2 million this year to 32.6 million in the next three years. Philips' latest Skype VoIP phones operate on Digitally Enhanced Cordless Telephones (DECT™) technology. DECT enhances the sound and security available in a cordless phone to create crystal-clear clarity. By teaming up with Skype, Philips offers consumers feature-rich, user-friendly cordless phones for the home or office.

Philips aims to be a top global player in the audio-visual, PC and mobility accessory market. Supporting this position is the recent acquisition of Power Sentry – the dominant player in the North American surge protection market with sales of approximately $50 million. Philips' acquired family of surge protectors (Expandable, PowerSquid® and Theatre Director™) provides protection and organization for today's computer or home theater applications with simple, safe solutions.

The Blu-ray Disc (BD) – today's most sophisticated home entertainment storage format - has the technological advantage to be the industry leader with the support of more than 170 companies, including seven of the eight major Hollywood studios. For Philips, the Blu-ray Disc embodies the future for playing movies in HD, storing personal content and recording and playing back HDTV programs. Philips has supported BD as a standard from the very start and has launched a Blu-ray disk player, a `Triple Writer' PCWriter™ and 25 GB Blu-ray discs.

In the near future, consumers can look for Philips' Blu-ray 50 GB discs. For the ultimate HD experience, Philips' Blu-ray Disc player is loaded with features that provide the most stunning pictures available, including an HDMI output that supports the latest 1080p resolution and a component video output that provides brilliant imagery. Rich surround sound is heightened with multi-channel HD audio decoding and digital audio optical outputs. Blu-ray also upscales traditional DVDs to enhance the picture clarity.

LAS VEGAS, January 8, 2007 – Sharp is once again raising the bar for LCD technology at 2007 CES with one-of-a-kind innovations and increased performance. The world's largest LCD TV, the 108-inch, is headlining the company's wide breadth of TV offerings, which also includes the newest lines of large-screen AQUOS HDTVs to come from the company's 8th generation factory in Kameyama, Japan, featuring enhanced contrast ratios, response times that are among the fastest in the industry, and more inputs than ever before. In addition, Sharp is showcasing groundbreaking technologies and applications that reinforce the company's dominance in the market. Sharp also further expands its large-screen offerings with new additions to its award-winning DLP® front projection lineup.

"Sharp makes one-of-a-kind products that change the way we live," said Bob Scaglione, senior vice president and group manager, Product and Marketing Group, Sharp Electronics Corporation. "LCD is the best flat-panel technology, and we are focused on bringing LCD innovations to the next level at 2007 CES, not only with new AQUOS products that further raise the bar for LCD TV performance, but also with groundbreaking concepts that will change our consumers' lifestyles."

Sharp is a worldwide leader in flat-panel LCD TV and has even won an Emmy® award for the technology behind the AQUOS line*. The company has unsurpassed LCD screen manufacturing at its new state-of-the-art 8th generation factory in Kameyama, Japan, where an entire production line focuses solely on the creation of large-screen units, ensuring that Sharp maintains their top position in the marketplace and exhibiting the company's commitment to achieving even larger screen sizes. This manufacturing superiority helps Sharp offer the most comprehensive flat-panel LCD TV selection, with more than 50 models in screen sizes ranging from 13- to 108-inches.

In addition to LCD TV, Sharp is further broadening its display products line with the debut of new high-definition front projectors that feature the award-winning Texas Instruments DLP™ technology. "Sharp's display expertise extends beyond the flat-panel TV category, and as a result we're pleased to be launching a number of new products in our line of DLP front projectors here at CES," Scaglione continued. "In addition to a new 1080p flagship product, we also have a number of smaller, portable projectors, for a full range of offerings, so that we can open up the world of projection to many more consumers. Sharp is completely committed to maintaining a leadership position in this segment, as well."

Cementing the company's future presence in tech-savvy households, Sharp is also demonstrating sophisticated, breakthrough technologies that capture the near- and long-term potential of LCD in home, mobile and broadcast environments. Featured technologies at CES include a preview of wireless image-beaming from cameras and cell phones to TVs, as well as the first productizing of modems that transfer two high-definition feeds through one power line in the home. In addition, Sharp will be demonstrating how consumers will be able to access PC content on their TV, bringing the Internet right into the living room. For the broadcast professional, a new LCD monitor with a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio for a crystal-clear picture will be demonstrated for use in demanding lighting conditions and picture-quality requirements, as well as a four thousand by two thousand resolution model, which doubles today's 1080p resolution. Finally, for mobile use in automobiles, Sharp is showcasing a three-way viewing angle display that lets three or more users watch three different programs that occupy the full screen of a single display simultaneously.

Additionally, Sharp is showcasing an iPod® docking system and a series of TVs specifically intended for gamers. For detailed information on Sharp's new products, please see the individual product announcements and fact sheets.
