Wadia 861b CD Player for sale. (Silver Colour)

It is in Mint, Perfect working condition.
No scratches, dents, dings, marks, etc.
Never been opened, serviced, repaired, tampered, etc.

Comes with the upgraded Metal Remote ($400 value), Original Cones (can be used without them) with cone coasters, Power Cord and Manual.
Will be packed in a wooden crate (it is heavy) and sent anywhere in India.

Wadia is regarded as one of the best manufacturers of CD Players. The 861 was their top of the line model. Many people prefer it to the latest model
(581 SACD) for CD playback, which is mainly due to the Teac VRDS Transport that it uses. VRDS = Very Rigid Disc Clamping System.

Expected price Rs. 1.70 (will negotiate for a quick hassle free sale)

1.7 lacs is a very good price for the 861.

All the very best with your sale.

Am acutally very satisfied with the overall sound of the Wadia.

However, I want to try HDD playback and am hence looking for a suitable CD Player with digital inputs. Hence the sale.

I was under the impression that HDD Based Servers needed USB inputs on DACs & I do not know too many CD Players that offer USB 'in' !!
But the future is HDD for sure.

All the Best in your sale !
The Wadia 861b is a great CD Player.
Abhi you should consider it;
It will be an 'upgrade' for sure !!

Also, dCS Puccini :

Upsampling Cd/Sacd player with digital inputs.
World renowned dCS ring dac. Precision VCXO clock.

http://www.dcsltd.co.uk/?p=product&id=1

For use with HDD sources;

dCS will shortly launch the new UClock for the Puccini cd player with USB interface. Expected price about GBP 3000 (which is a steal, imo)

With the Puccini Masterclock, Puccini owner can now connect a PC/MAC/Server/Hard drive/laptop to the USB input.The design is a bit special technically too, since the Clock output connected to Puccini Word Clock input improves the performance of Puccini, and the data from the hard drive timing is also controlled by the UClock.

The 861 came in 3 versions...
a] 861 B
b] 861
c] 861 - SE

The diff were :-

[a] Basic CD Player
[b] Digital in & Digital out. Analogue in too...
[c] Upgraded player with certain parts changed

Yes, the 861B can be upgraded.

This is the 861b. Sonically identical to the 861 but without digital inputs.

It is possible to upgrade but the upgrade is expensive and I understand that the unit has to be shipped back to the manufacturer, which is too much of a hassle.

Therefore I thought I might as well upgrade to another player.
