Buffalo II from Twisted Pear. Hardly used...

Inputs : USB, SPDIF (BNC with RCA adapter), Optical & AES/EBU

PSU : 2 transformers (toroidal) and six different PSUs

Chassis is a cheap one, but has been reinforced with thick acrlyic sheets to provide better mechanical isolation.

This is a SUPER DAC.

Based on technical specifications alone, this is currently the World's BEST DAC Chip.

This is not really the best of my work...just assembled with what i had @ hand. There is ofcourse no charge for the chassis....the buyer can assemble the items in a more elegant chassis, if required.

I had the oppurtunity to work with engineers from ESS and exchanged documents with them. The complete technical information of this DAC is not public domain yet and we had to signa NDA to even get the datasheets. But I assume, they have good reasons to do so...

Sabre DAC takes a very different approach from most other DACs. And it does make a very compelling package for many audio/bluray player manufactuers.

We will be seeing more of this DAC in the future...defintely.

BTW. Price dropped to Rs.33k/-.This was due to a calculation mistake..

Hey, that is AWESOME to know that you have dug yr teeth into the SABRE.

Yes, the DAC IC has a huge level of integration, providing a great solution for mass produced electronics.

The 8 DACs on a chip were actually designed for 7.1 sound.
