Thanx a ton.yes I have changed my mind 2 Wherfedale Diamond 9 series speakers if my pocket permits.Otherwise I'd prefer 2 buy Sonodyne Sonus series.Paisa debo r bhalo jinis pabo na ta to hobe na. Anyway thanx again.Any other recomendations are highly solicited.

Wharfedale Diamond 9 is a good decision. Avoid Bose. You'll get sick of it in a week. Dunno what the audiophile scene is currently in good ol Cal but yes, do give Sonodyne a serious listen (I think they have a demo-room somewhere in New Alipore). Also give Reynolds (on Free School street) a look. As far as I remember they used to stock some decent equipment (atleast 6 -7 years back). I think SKS stocks Dali too. Listen to that as well. A nice pair of Dali would do wonders to your ears. All the best!

I have been in Sonodyne listening room at Elgin Road.though I already have 1 pair of old Sonodyne speakers ( for Uranious series) still I'm in search for HI Fi Bookself speakers ( within Rs. 18,000 ).SKS at Sarat Bose Road stocks nice pairs too.Now i'm in a dilemma which to buy ? Plz suggest.

Let your ears tell you what you should go in for.

Being in Cal your resources are limited. (I know. I've been born and brought up there) But that's not necessarily a bad thing. You have fewer outlets to visit and easier choices to make.

SKS would stock Dali so listen to them. Though honestly i don't think you'd get anything in your price point besides bookshelves in the Blue Series (I'm not sure, check!)

The Uranus Series is outdated now. Listen to Sonodyne's Sonus range or their new Avant Series.

Wharfedale offers the best value, so Diamond 9.1 is a thumbs-up all the way.

Also you might want to check out this store off Ballygunge Circular road (opposite AAEI petrol pump... the lane after Azad Hind Dhaba). If I'm not mistaken, there used to be a guy stocking Jamo speakers there. It would be advisable to find out if he still exists and then go though.

Remember, I left Cal some years back. I dunno if these places still exist. So check, enquire and do some research.
