Hello,

Could you post the details of the venue? It would be nice if those of us in Bangalore could sync and meet there.

Thanks,

An indoor stadium for an AV show - is this a world's first? I suspect it will mostly be a "V" show with lots of HT systems thrown in. At least parking should not be a problem!

The quality of AV expos have gone down the drain. Its plain and simply ridiculous.
From a five star hotel with demo rooms to a five star without demo rooms and now a non air conditioned stadium.
Someone pls tell the organisers that this kind of an expo is ideal for refrigerators & washing machines and not Hi-end products.

there's going to be a coupleof cars fully 'decked out' and causing such a din that would make everyone(including the bassheads) to make a run for it.

It happened to me the last time i went.

...and please be dressed in all your fineries else they would not even look at you...you ask them for the specs of a machine and you'd get an uninterested response..."imported...expensive...125 watts rms"

BTW...is anybody from the forum participating? At least we can go to them and expect a good response...plus it would be great to be able to put a face to all these nicknames...

All the 3 shows of Times AV Revolution were 'silent' shows.
New Delhi + Mumbai & now Bangalore too will be silent.

They do have demo area, but no demo room. It is a lot of noise in one small corner. Not worth going into that part.

For all those that do not visit, Gadget Guru will cover it for you. So not much will be missed.

A “ silent “ audio expo ! What the hell is that
I don’t mind a silent show if the Victoria secret’s models were on show

An Obstuse view from the other side.

While I would CERTAINLY prefer a "Non Silent" AV show... maybe we are a spoilt lot ....

Do car enthus get to drive cars at an Auto Show ???

Infact a point I learnt about.... many ( most ? ) concept cars at the show dont even have an Engine in them... they are pushed into the stand....

To add to my own post above.....

A ( Even Silent Show ) IMHO ... and PARTICULARLY in India shows us not only what is available locally, but also who sells it, and probably a handle on the local dealer.

So get there and soak it in ...

The Birds are a PLUS !

Really sad but true, the show is only for static display, hence no demos, and thank god for that as you can imagine what will happen if everyone turns up the volume in the world best acoustical stadium , What fantastic organisers we have . Thank god I am not taking part.

Sir,

You should support the industry.
The Show is in your city. You do so many products. At least take part.
Display the gear that you represnt.
1 item from each camp.
So what if things cannot be played. But at least an awareness can be created.

More than that, at least some one is holding an exhibition, support them, that way more perple and more companies will take it up to hold an exhibition.
We should support the cause. At least that is what I feel !!

Very well put !

I am a strong believer in support.
Someone does somthing that we all love, the least we should do is support it.
It creates awareness if nothing else.

I was there too;
It was a complete waste of time.
However, not withstanding, at least you get to see some gear.
The Jamo 909 was there. Basically who ever takes part, displays the equipment that they import. It cretes awareness, if one is interested, you take an appointment and drop by. Audition it and then take it forward.

The only places of interest I found were:
The Audio People from Chennai displaying Bryston, Pathos, MF, Sunfire, Monitor Audio and Thiel
LaKozy with NAD/PSB
A stall (cannot remember the name) with Densen, Vincent and Anthony Gallo. The Vincent Hybrids looked really good...wish I could listen to them...

Athena & Mirage is Riviera International.

Densen + Vincent + Gallo is Mr. Akshay - Focal from Pune & Dubai.

I love Vincent. I had recommended Mr. Kolhi to take up Vincent. I really think they are real great value for money. Price to performance is great.

I prefer Vincent to Jolida.

Build & Sound both are better on Vincent.

The Vincent is Low Fi to Mid Fi in price & looks like High Fi & definately sounds like mid-fi. I prefer it to Opera Consonance & Cayin / Spark.

Great products.

I had auditioned them in Germany @ a Show many years back;
They had just launced way back then.
Nice products.
I wonder if they are sold in Bombay ?
Would love to hear them again.
Dr. Harshal [Nagpur] sells them there, but I am not so sure if they have any presence in Bombay.

Nice to know that Mr. Jalal is still around & takes part in some shows at least.

He has taken on a lot of new brands. Bryston etc.
I have heard some things like he was in talks with JM Labs too - for Focal. Has it got that in too ? On display @ Times AV Revolution ?

MF & Thiel + REL + MS + Sunfire + I forget what else he does. Resourceful chap none the less. Prices are very very good @ The Audio People.

Went to the show yesterday with some friends.
Nothing great. The audio-people from Chennai had some interesting stuff on display. The pathos 5 channel tube amp is a beautiful work of art. Wish I could hear it connected to the Theil speakers they had on silent display. Got to see the Jamo 909. A visit to their showroom is in order. Had a look at the mirage omnipolar speakers. The tweeters looked groovy. The Vincent amps look groovy too. The guy at the stall was vehemently insisting that they are all designed and assembled in Germany. I tried not to laugh. They look cool though. They had a pair of class-A hybrid mono blocks each priced at around 65k.

The plus point was the meeting with deaf who was busy with the cerwin – wega car install. Had a long chat with him. What he has achieved with a pair of component speakers and a sub in that car was mind blowing. It was as if the performers were in front of the driving seat – spread out on a huge stage. That includes the bass too in spite of the sub being situated in the boot. Awesome. Very neutral sound with all the dynamics and attack intact.

Mr. Kohli may have some on demo in pune I hope. next time I get there maybe I give em a call. I see anthony gallo at lakozy....but never a vincent at the shop....maybe they clash with the nad line on pricing/performance ?

Vincent stuff is really good.
Have heard a 100W tube Monos driving a pair of Thiel 2.3 s effortlessly and wonderfully. that is perhaps the only time that i actually liked the Thiels

Was at the show todaw..was rather impressed to see the wider choices available.

I thought the Polk Products are very affordably priced in India.

Also very happy to see the Mirage Omnisate/Nanosats..I am a geat fan of their technology

Hi Arjun !

Congratualtions !

Now you will enjoy real stereophonic sound (rarely music, mostly noise) And you will love noise more than music - that's called psychoacoutics !

Do post pictures of your family on Flickr.
