about your point of view which between d76af and d52af is better??
which sound more warm ??
i mount per speaker two 21w8555-01,two 18w8545-00,a mid dome ,and a mdt33.

you cannot compare those drivers, they have different application areas.
The Directivity of the D76 narrows above 2250Hz, of the D52 above 3400Hz.
On the other side, the D76 can reproduce lower frequencies without distortion,
because of the larger area of the diaphragm. I would use the D76 (Filter 4th. order),
if a range from ~500Hz up to ~2,25kHz is needed and the D54 for a range between ~700Hz up to ~3,4kHz
If you use one of these drivers above the mentionend frequencies, the sound
becomes "warm" (because of the increasing directivity), but this is an artefact,
if you are not able to fit the directivity of the tweeter to this behaviour.

with kind regards

Andrew

ok,thank you indeed for your answer.
now i follow your suggestions.
another question:
which between d76af and d52af,in their optimal range, sound more sweet and silk??
which one is more aggrassive,in general?
thanks

Hi mauro,
it was a long time ago, but in my opinion none of them sounded agressive - in its range, of course ( AH. told it ).But if you prefere a warm sound, use a D 76 up to 4 kHz, because of the directivity you can get your sweet sound. On the other hand you may get problems, if you use a small tweeter. The wide angled directivity of an 19 mm tweeter at 4 kHz ( and above )would cause a very " clear " Reproduction. Therefore ( and because of your prefered " sound " )I think, you should use a " big " tweeter, perhaps with 34 mm voicecoil.

in the range I told, these drivers does neither sound "agressive" nor "warm/sweet/silky/soft".
If you whish a warm sound, wolfis recommendation is right, to use the D76 up to 4kHz. Because of the inreasing directivity, the sound then becomes "warm and soft".
But then you have the problem to match the directivity of the tweeter. Even a tweeter with 34mm VC has at 4kHz much lower directivity, then the 76mm Dome.

If you whish a neutral sound (neiter warm nor agressive), the D76 should be combined with a 1" tweeter, crossed around 2,5kHz or the D54 should combined with a 0,75"-Tweeter, crossed around 3,5kHz.
The first combination has fewer interferences between midrange and tweeter, but an inreasing directivity above 6,8kHz, the second combination has more problems with interferences but a wider directivity in the top octave.

Hi mauro,
because you have got a Morel MDT 33 (?), I would try the larger fabric dome ( if you can get it ) and start around 2,5 kHz ( as AH. said ) - the MDT 33 will fit. Later you can try to lift the crossover - frequency up to 4 kHz und see, what will happen ( for your ears only ).
The larger dome will match better with your Scan Speak 7 inch mid-bass - there will be more opportunities to experiment than with the smaller one.

ok,
i will use the dome mid from 1khz to 2khz ........
what do you say?
thank you

Hi mauro,
in that case both will fit, but above 1kHz I prefere the smaller one because its dome seems to have better stability ( theory ).
