Computer Audio: Mac help needed

I would hate being called an Apple Expert, but I have had SO MANY problems with my Apple Hardware (iMac, Keyboard & Airport Extreme) that I have acquired some expertise on that platform ( A to our Manek for his patient encouragement, and hints on how to rectify the Mac problems ).

Anyways, which Playback Software are you using ? iTunes ? No Good, for 96K+.

You can use AMARRA.

If you need help with Amarra, let me know.

There are other cheaper software too ( will post names if of help to you) that you can use.

Other good ( and Cheaper ) MAC programs :

1. Pure Music ( www.channel-d.com ) = US $ 129 .

Has a free 15 day trial download.
Plays upto 384KHz files and can play files of different sample rates, automatically, without setup or re-boot..

Runs as a 'skin' on iTunes


2. Decibel ( http://sbooth.org ) costs only US $ 33 and some prefer its Sound Quality to Pure Music.

Its just 9 MB.

Very basic interface. Runs on its own, No iTunes, hence very light on Computer Horse power.

All these Mac programs are are WAYYYYY superior to iTunes in Sound Quality.

I've been playing around with Audirvana. Still in beta mode. But nice interface. Want a "Remote" like control app, which is on the creator's TODO list. I think the iTunes "Remote" app for iPad is simply brilliant.

A lot of folks on computeraudiophile.com prefer the sound of Audirvana to all the others out there.

I've only just loaded it.
