F86 series: how to tune settings whith USB input?

Today I was in a shop where they gave me opportunity to fiddle around some with different LCD sets. I brought a USB stick with 1920x1080 calibration pictures to try figure out which set(s) would let themselves calibrate to contrast and brightness settings such that dark shadows can be distinguished while at the same time highlights show detail too.

With Philips 9632 / 9732 series it was possible to find settings that gave very good results, showing both detailed blacks and detailed whites. I was drawn however to Samsung F86 series because of the glossy screen. To me it has a “wauw” factor, the picture has just this lil’ extra crispiness. (I have a 24” HP glossy screen monitor with my PC and I love it every day I use it.) I could however not tune the settings when showing pictures from USB input. What ever settings were selected in the menu, once switched to USB input the set defaulted to different settings … which were no good at all for watching photo’s, no details in blacks as well as completely washed out whites. When I cannot find optimal settings for watching pictures it would mean a show stopper for the F86.

My question is if there are any people around the forum (who maybe own an F86) who are ale to tell if and how settings for USB input can be modified?
