Beeindruckend, was Samsung Electronics bei den Marktanteilen innerhalb weniger Jahre geschafft hat und im sehr wichtigen Premium OLED TV Bereich über 1.500 Dollar hat man gar LG schon überholt.

According to market research firm Omdia on the 13th, Samsung Electronics recorded a market share of 34.4% based on OLED TV revenue last year. This represents a surge of approximately 24% compared to 2024 (27.7%). In terms of shipments, the share also increased by about 30% during the same period, rising from 23.7% to 30.7%.

Thanks to Samsung Electronics' strong performance, the market share gap with frontrunner LG Electronics narrowed by nearly half in just one year, falling from 22% in 2024 to 11.3% last year. LG Electronics' market share (based on revenue) declined from 49.3% in 2024 to 45.7% last year. In terms of shipments, it fell below the 50% mark last year, settling at 49.7%. The industry views this as the de facto end of LG Electronics' dominance, with a duopoly between Samsung and LG now established.

Erst dachte ich, die Prozente beim Zuwachs im ersten Absatz stimmen nicht, dort ist aber die relative Steigerung zum Ausgangswert gemeint, statt Prozentpunkte (absolute Differenz).

The most notable development is the reversal of rankings in the high-end OLED TV market (priced over $1,500), where profitability is directly linked. Last year, Samsung Electronics recorded a 42.8% market share in this segment, overtaking LG Electronics (35.4%) to claim the top spot. While LG Electronics (41.5%) was ahead of Samsung Electronics (35.3%) as recently as 2024, the situation has reversed in just one year. This is analyzed as a result of Samsung Electronics' brand power and its strategy of ultra-large and premium products resonating with the premium consumer base.
