If wonder if any of you folks paused to look at the layout of the Advance Accoustics amp at Sushil Anand's stall.

Impressive build quality. For those of you,who don't already know, the products are designed in France and made in China.

Has anyone heard them ? and if you have, how do they sound ?

Same factory makes the amplifiers as DK Design & CAV [China Audio Video].

The product is great VFM.

I like it for what it does at its price point.

http://www.advance-acoustic.com/

Nice product to recommend - option to consider while looking @ NAD & Marantz etc.

Got a pair of MAA705 monoblocks and MPP505 preamp. Very well built and initial impression is that it sounds like a gear that costs 3 times their cost.

Will update as soon as I spend more time with it.

This is a sure value buster product.

It is priced very much the same as NAD [our forum members will love that] but definately looks well built.
These Chinese guys ure know how to get it right when it comes to good quality workmanship @ reasonable price points.

The supplier is the same to CAV & DK Design etc. All are made in the same factory.

I have heard it, but with Quad ELS's.
I want to hear it again with other products, maybe with the Monitor Audio Silver [same stable].
I will write about it, only after I have heard it well.

P.S. Doctor [Dhavan] should take a look at this product; The Mono Amps & Pre Amp & CD player is a good option to consider.

Hi Ani,
This is an interesting product...how much did you pay for the mono blocks and the pre-amp ?

Hello all more on Advance gear...

First impression..

Primaluna PL1 sounded more chestier in mid range especially for male vocals and violins, this was described by me as the body resonance of the instrument and ambience of recoded environment. On AA this was missing and on first listen the vocals were weak almost anemic. After a long session of different discs keenly listened on both the amps, the body resonance or the ambience that were heard through Primaluna was apparently same for all the discs!! Is it some sort of coloration that was being added ? simple logic points to common factor the amp. So I/we have to come to the conclusion that PL1 is a beautifully coloured amp (knew that and still enjoy it)

Comparing both the amp ends here .

LF – Advance amp do not have the vise like grip of some solid state amps, nothing is there after the main note kind of reproduction. It is not flabby like Primaluna where everything is after the main note is sounded (dont forget that I am a teeney weeney EL34 35 watter built to a tight budget). Advance could bring out the some what the right amount of transient plus the all important decaying part of stringed bass and drums.

Mid range – Is cleaner and more resolving, if I have to complain I would like a bit more of lower Mid at low listening levels, it can be my speakerstoo. At normallistening levels the lower mid is fine.

HF - airy without all the loose transients spitting and spewing fire, didnt call my attention so assumed it to be neutral

Overall a nice value package. It is like a Japanese car say, a Camry, if you are used to a E class you will surely know what is missing else you can get from point A - B equally well on both these cars. What you miss out is very subjective, you value it you pay for it !

Very well written; nicely put.

However, the Camry & E comparison could be watered down a bit. More like Hyundai Accent & Toyota Corolla.
This is in realtion to the price points of the Advance Acoustics.

Any person in the market that wants to buy a NAD, must surly take a demo of AA before he buys the NAD. I like AA at its price point.

Thanks Bhagwan, Korean Japanese comparison somehow just didnt come to my mind. Always felt that Koreans are 10yrs behind Japanese and Japanese 5yrs behind Europeans ! (Lexus is a different breed )

I could not agree more !

The new Lexus is really very very nice.

To get back, I like AA a lot. Great Value Buster !

What you heard could be very much influenced by the pre-amp also. With budget electronics, I feel the preamp suffers the most. They are usually grainy, lousy stuff. Replace the pre with a good SS/ Valve pre and the sound changes for the better. The power amp sections are usually pretty decent. Does your Prima luna have a pre out ?

SQ Wave,
I did not have a pre amp handy to try our. Primaluna is having a passive pre, a selector and pot so no question of pre out.

as long as the analogue out of your cdp is good this is the best pre possible

especially when the power supply itself is not good..
