Zhaolu DACs

i had posted abt these abt 4 months ago..the thread has some nice info. reignofchaos contributed most of it.
U might want to look it up.
They seem to use some of the best dacs available...and for a knockout price too.
Pity i don't see any audiophile stuff on offer for blackfriday.

I have a Citypulse DA7.2x... according to the dude who sells them and most folks at head-fi, its a few notches above the zhaolu. If you want a zhaolu/lite/citypulse/great march, check out:

The fella who runs the site is called Eddie Wu and is a real nice chap. The only downer is that shipping from HK is steep :(.

The M-Audio sounds like a tincan compared to this :KR. Its doing its job now as an SPDIF source. The headamp on the DAC is quite good but i still prefer my old one somehow

The reason I am saying this... would like to know your personal opinion.

If you look hard enough on the net, you will find a rave review for practically ANY audio gear...

My ears couldn't be any more happier atleast considering the price I paid :). I definitely agree with you about glowing reviews for every single audio component... the only difference in this case is that headfi doesn't consist of paid professional reviewers but rather audio lovers and end users just like this forum. Also none of the reviews of any component there are glowing faultless either ;).

That IS great to hear, reignofchaos.

Unfortunately, even forums are infiltrated by commercial members who pose as non-commercial members, and write good stuff about their own wares.

Another malady is that persons register with more than 1 Id on the same forum, and the 2 Ids back scratch each other ! ... or speak in multiple tongues... all done subtly to provide more credibility to what they say, or oppose, without revealing their (multiple) Ids....

I glanced at the forum you mentioned, and its great !

I will probably join it.

P.S: How uch did the DAC end up costing you, and eaxactly which version did you buy ? Any more info sincerely appreciated.

Hehe there's no chance that folks selling this dac will infiltrate the forums as the guy selling it is chinese operating out of HK and has completely broken english... It'd be damn easy to catch him :KR. The DAC costed me 313$+113$ shipping plus 2.4 grand in customs. I recently ordered a better clock generator upgrade alongwith replacement blackgate caps. Those were another 50$. Still haven't received them, have to start modding once I get it :).

reignofchaos, your DAC seems to be the next best thing after Zhaolu!

Yup inclusive of everything... it comes with an internal linear psu.

Dunno about Bangalore, but Nova Audio in Mumbai stocks AA. Haven't seen the DAC with them though. Worth a checkout!

sharukh AA would also mean audio analogue.... which sushil sells too.
