I read glowing reviews for the Nuforce integrated amp on AVMax. I am intersted in buying a used Nuforce 9.02 Ref amp from Audiogon for about US$1300. However, while there are a lot of glowing reviews for this amp, several reviewers have talked about problems faced with this amp as well like high RF emission, pops, buzz and hum.

Does anyone have first hand experience in using Nuforce Amps?

Here are links to some of the reviews:

Nuforce is perhaps not the best digital amp to buy as I am not sure if their problems of fluctuating quality are fixed.

class D is not digital, these are "switching amps. class D is an analogue amp usually used in HT subs and car audio (amp-nut whould most probably throw more light on this)

Ihave found digital amps to do the bass and midrange exceeedingly well.

on reason digital amps are not accepted is due to the mindset that "digital" cannot be good and will be grainy and funnily there is very little digital in these amps. (check for any manufacturer useing the ex Bang Olufsun technology of ICE modules.. just google it)

from what was available in some technical forums, they do have a problem which high frequencies where the ability to filter out "noise" was not very good due to its inteinsic design.

there are a couple of digital amps available, The is a thread on Flying Mole amps in this forum which is perhaps superior to Nuforce.

People have complained about the HF noise picked up by their tuners and other valve gear.

I have heard the 8.5 series and the integrated amp.
First time I was kicked...the other two times were not as impressive....soon gave up the idea.

Sounded cold and dry.

Please get a recent copy of the Absolute sound. There is a shootout between various digital amps in the issue, makes very interesting reading.BTW no digital amp could come close to a well designed linear amp.
