Hi Guys,

Just stumbled upon this site and hope that somebody here will be able to help me out. I have the Denon AVR-1804 amp and I am about to setup a home theatre system. I am not able to decide on which speakers to buy. I have been looking at the PRO-FX H314 package which comes with 5 speakers and a sub but dont know how it will perform. Should I go for those speakers or do you guys suggest something else for my budget of 50,000. Have been looking at Jamo & JBL too but couldn't find something interesting. Please help me decide.

bye, thanks

wharfedale diamond's are great for entry level HT. They will fit in your budget as well.
The profx speakers are decent. heard them briefly over the weekend for stereo. They would do well with HT.

sony. it may not be a top stereo speaker brand but they are the first guys i'd go to for a 45-50 k home theatre speaker budget. small quality speakers, out of the way and sony's quite rugged. that's what am planning to do when i do get around to setting up a home theatre. cos i'd have huge main stereo speakers in place and don't want the home theatre speakers to clash.

of course if you're also looking at playing music through these speakers then sony will not fit the bill. that's my thinking anyway... hope it helps you.

not too into home theatre but some names you can check out are onkyo, jbl, yamaha (not sure), jamo, definitive, klipsch!!! oh yeah check klipsch out. supposed to be good. or just pick up an av max magazine from the stands. you'll get a list at the back of the magazine. happy scouting around!

regards

JBL might be a good choice for an entry level pure HT setup, its highs and lows are a bit too sharp for Music..but does surprisingly well in an HT !
Also they usually have good sensitivity which works out in their favour

i suggest you go in for ONKYO........massive loads of power for the price you pay and the sattelites are decent performers.
