ur present system config????

Hi Prithvi,
Currently I have a Sonodyne SCR 2030 AmpliDeck (which I use as pre-amp and Cassette player), a Sonodyne Integrated Amp 50w + 50w (SC-630 If I remember correctly), a pair of Sonodyne 2 way Monitor speakers (handling capacity 35w each), Cables as given by Sonodyne. I use my Comp for playing Audio CDs and DVDs at present.
The whole system is around 12 years old.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like ur a total SONODYNE freak. Looks like you need a total upgrade, but only if you want too. If your happy with your system them dont upgrade.

most audiophiles start with Sonodyne....so I see Abhi owning a great system in a few days .he's auditioning furiosly...watch your stuff at AP... he might buy em from you... ..

Abhi BTW what did you listen in AP...and you were quite keen about dynaudio's....did you listen to them...

Ya, Sub-Boss is closer to what I feel. IMHO Sonodyne is not something to freak about but just gives a decent system with great VFM. Very few people like, Prithvi and Benks have the opportunity see the hi-fi world in their teens (very fortunate). Otherwise people like us normally start with what is available locally and that too within a very tight budget (around 1/10th of a decent hi-fi). So either select some philips/sony component-based stuff or "Sonodyne".

But yes, now I am looking for a complete overhaul of my system but again step-by-step.

About the Dyns, ya I was very curious about them, but only to listen to them because I knew I cant buy them now....

It was really a consolation for me to see a guy like you who is in the same frame of mind like me. We really try & get the maximum output particularly with limited resources.
I also kept on auditioning the DYNs & B&Ws , CADENCEs.
but could not buy one. but I feel that you should not settle on thing which you feel is mediocre or less satisfying. Best solution is wait ,take your time,listen, save money and buy the good one . Mean while upgrade relatively cheaper components of the setup like room furnishing , accessories etc.
BUT , One day Im gonna pick up those dynes too!!

I never started with Sonodyne, but I'm a good audiophile.Grow up guys audition when you plan to buy. Don't waste time....pfuurffffffffffhhehehhahahhohoho umph
