Hi audiophiles!! I have a query regarding my new home theatre... I have a Creative SB Live 7.1 24-bit sound card in my PC, connected via digital coaxial cable to a Denon 1905 reciever. The reciever is connected to KEF KHT 2005.2 speakers.I was just wondering if upgrading the sound card to something better like Audigy ZS, etc, would give me better sound quality. Since I am totally bypassing the card's sound processor, so in my opinion there would not be any difference after upgrading. I use my PC primarily for music and movies. I dont play games, so I dont need on-the-fly Dolby AC-3 encoding. In case a better sound card is needed, then is it better to opt for a card that has optical-out, so that I can connect it with an optical cable to my reciever? Thanx in advance...

All creative cards have resampling problems , due to which you'll never get bit-perfect output thru spdif. If you can try to get hold of the chaintech av-710 souncard. It gives bit perfect output on spdif.
