Pc speakers vs cheap home theater set

I would like to buy a low-end surround speakers to my dvd player and to my PC.
I am thinking about 2 products:
1) Creative Labs Gigaworks s750 7.1 speaker set

Creative DDTS-100 external decoder

(link).
2) Panasonic SCHT15 system with 5.1 speaker + audio receiver set

(link)

I would like to use it mainly for home theater and for listening to music.
Which setup is better or has better sound quality?

hey.....

have u tried listening to logitech 5500 digital spekers....these have got rave reviews as best speakers......it has a 10" driver for the sub and two way speakers on the satellites.......i would recommend u to go in for these or creative but not panasonic

No, but I have heard that these arent better than the creative ones. Esp the subwoofer is more quality in gigaworks set than in logitech one. Thats what I found in online reviews.
So those panasonics arent that good? And how is it about those cheap home-theater-ready sets? Are they worth the money? Or I should definitely go with those creative ones?

hey....

i havnt heard to logitech yet so i donot know bout the performance but the reviews are great......yeah u can surely go with the creative gigaworks......i too heard that the sub is great......but the only downside is they have only analog inputs(if i am not wrong).......
creative is anytime better as i own one pair of creative speakers(5200)

I have the Creative Inspire 2.5 2500, which is connected to my lap top at work. I use it to listen to music and I luv' it.

I have the 5500 & would highly recommend them, have'nt heard s750 so cant comment on them but had the inspire 7900 & returned them in a week & plus 5500 comes with a decoder & various input options. Also 7.1 is rarely there in movies, etc so would say try them both if u can.

ok just remembered had heard the panasonic u mentioned & would recommend the 5500 over them atleast...

how much did u pay for the logitech 5500 and how old are they......i wanted to know whether it has got 5.1 input for SACD player compatibility.....

I paid Rs.23.5K for them (bought them last saturday), as for SACD sorry mate am not aware about that...
