Hi, I have the SBLive 24bit 7.1 channel sound card coupled with the Creative Inspire 5.1 speaker system for my PC. The question here is related to the sub. I have not gone thru the specs in much detail yet. I have installed the creative suite which came along with the sound card. The bass management section of the software allows the frequency level of the sub go as low as 10hz. My question is does it really happen?? I mean can a software really allow the sub to go that low ??? if it does then i think such things can also be incorporated in normal HT subs. regards - Sunil |

Hi Sunil ! I think generating a low frequency audio signal to drive a speaker is not a problem. The problem is manufacturing & mounting a driver on a cabinet - that will faithfully reproduce this signal. Almost all the CDP & Amps have a frequency response that extends beyond the limits of human hearing 20 Hz - 20,000 Hz. But the speaker perform optimally at a much narrow spectrum. The limitation is not electronics but the mechanics or to use your terms it's not the software but the hardware that fails. Regards Sanjay |
