Came across this Link.

Tests one's ears and also the speaker / headphone. Unfortunately this test has to be run on a PC. Since I am using cheap (Rs.200) multimedia speakers my score was only - 9db on the first hearing. I am told one can go to -24 db if having good headphones.

Try it out yourself.

~~Wow, I got the same score as well. I thought having in-ear earphones would be an advantage. Guess not.~~. Second time around I cheated by turning system volume up to max and got to -15dB. Interesting test

Good one behram....could go upto -24db with my MS-1 headphones.

kingfisher earphones = -12 db hmm, not bad i would think

Hi,

Very interesting link. By sheer luck or my golden ears -36db with my lap top speakers down and up !!!

Dear Abi,
Yes tried it again at home and the result surprised me -36db. The best part was wife consistently hitting -36db !!! So am convinced that my final testing pair of ears are good

How reliable is the test ? The answer hold the key
