Best Speakers to get within my range?

I am new to this all... I can't afford to buy $2,000 speakers like some of the posts I've seen on here. But I do know you guys would know a bit about audio.

I'm trying to fix up my car's system. 4" speakers fit in front, and 6.5" in the back. I initially bought some Pioneer TS-G1640R's (2-way) for the back... They sucked. They were very harsh on the ear in the 2k-8k area, must've had some frequency spikes there. I took them back and got some Pioneer TS-A630P's (3-way)... Which were audibly much better, but still had a spike and irritating noise around the 2k-3k area.

For the front I bought Rockford Fosgate FRC4204... They're great, no scratchy harshness that I can tell. But they're not too powerful as far as turning the volume up.

I just ordered a Rockford Fosgate 700W Punch Amp... And will get a subwoofer soon.

As far as the harshness goes, what should I do? will 2-way rockford's be better than 3-way pioneers? I'm interested in flat frequency responses. Thanks.

hey...junk the pioneer....fosgates are a much better proposition.

I personally use alpine 2 way speakers in the back of my car and love them. Mellow, does not heart the ear and can pump SPL when needed.

Hi again, 've been long away,

you should spend $2000 for some good hifi-speakers but not spend this amount for your car.

But that's my opinion.
Maybe you should really create a new topic in the "other hifi"-forum.

Actually what kind of music you like..
so practically speaking the speakers called as dynaudio for car will be nice but not available in india and even nobody is importing them..as you get

a pair of dome tweeters + a pair of 6.5inch midbass for your price and you can directly connect to ur existing cd player or buy a kenwood player( recommended )

Buy dynaudio is not available.. so you can go for my speakers with give more performance for very affordable price...

I will show you the pics of these speakers by tomorrow evening..

dynaudio is available in India I suppose. They have a supplier in Bombay who is selling their products over here. Check out if they have your stuff too.

dynaudio home audio is avaialbe in India not car audio..I have already contacted them...
