London — Rock fans around the world should dig out their tightest jeans and begin strengthening their thumbs for a marathon session of lighter-waving: For one night only, Led Zeppelin will rise again.

John Bonham won't be there, of course, except in spirit. The hard-partying drummer's death in 1980 led to the band breaking up. But his son, Jason, will be behind the drum kit when Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones reunite on Nov. 26 for a one-time concert.

The group is reforming to headline a tribute concert for Ahmet Ertegun, the founder of Atlantic Records, who died last year.

Tickets to Led Zeppelin's comeback gig have sparked an unprecedented rush with around 20 million fans clamoring for a glimpse of nostalgia.

Fans are attempting to register for tickets to the event at London's O2 Arena at a rate of 80,000 per minute, according to service provider Pipex.

Although tickets are priced at $263 (£125) and are limited to two per fan, demand is so intense that yesterday afternoon, heavy competition for the 18,000 tickets had caused the site to crash.

The band is joined by other big name artists such as Pete Townshend, Bill Wyman, Foreigner and Paolo Nutini.

Tickets for the concert on November 26 will be allocated via a lottery.

A spokesman for the gig said: "The message is to be patient. The website will be open until midday Monday September 17 for anyone wanting to register.

"It is not 'first come, first served' and all successful applicants will be entered into the ballot for tickets to be drawn at random."

Fans can register for tickets at http://www.ahmettribute.com.
