Wow. seems to be on an increase..is it due to component prices or indirect ipact of crude oil ?

a question for the existing ARITA owners..is it a good deal at this price ? ie would you have bought yours at this one ?

The arita to my ears has always been far better than speakpers in their price braket till date. With the new prices I do think they will have stiff competition. A good listen to a few speakers in that price range is in order.

I am hoping the new speakers come with siltech wiring, and the electrostats with siltech and the new panel film.

I did hear the panel with the new film on the arca's a few weeks ago and it was awesome ! Mesmerising. That tweeter is yummy.

Wonder if eton has raised it prices too ? Even if it did it should not account for such an increase. Wonder what it is about wood and other components ?

I had a chat with Mahendra Dave last week on this price hike issue. He said in Aritas only change is Siltech wiring (VDH is older model), nothing else is changed.

All other model (ES) are now with Panel with new technology (see through panels) .

However he offered no comments on question whether the price hike in Arita and Diva 'Justifiable'

Aritas are exceptional at the older price (65K with stands) but with new price (108 K w/ stands) there are certainly other options worth considering.

With price hike is Diva they virtually killed the product. Who will touch Dive when Avita is just an arm's length from it?

Hi Manek,

I think first of all ARITA and DIVA have to now compete with their SPENDOR-counterparts

All Cadence speakers will have SILTECH internal wiring and the new electrostatic foils are 200 times more expensive than the old ones.
With the present heavy demand of ETON drivers I can imagine that ETON would have increased their prices.
But the major contribution to CADENCE's price hike, I can imagine, is the ever rising Euro-exchange rate which has touched 68 Rupees recently. Remember that all major parts (drivers, foils, cables & crossover components) for the speakers come from Europe and will have to be paid in Euro only. No European manufacturer will export nowadays on US-dollar basis anymore.

Input costs have gone up - hence MRP's have been revised.

I am sure a lot of other products that Indian D & D's sell too will have their 'export' prices see an upward revision..... This is sad, but true & with the Euro @ 68/- it only makes matters worse.

Aritas at that price are ridiculously bad value... one can get the Usher Be-718 at around the same price which are in a completely different class of performance altogether.

Its 87.5k+VAT in India. Plus the cost of stands. Incredible VFM.

i was prett amazed at hearing the price too..its not very usual for products to be cheaper in india ! maybe due to taiwan being near india !

usher seems to be doing a much better job at marketing than cadence..

There was a time when i almost bought the Cadence book-shelf and the matching wood/marble stand for 48000/- rupees. It wood have been a good value buy as its more than doubled its cost.

with the stock market crashing you can buy it as an investment, keep it unpacked and sell it at a profit

I listened to the Avitas at Jochens place.Some of the best renditions of Jazz, western classical I have ever heard.
Great speaker.The new panels are mesmerizing. There is something with the mids and highs from panels.

Yup the Avitas are wonderful speakers for Classical and certain forms of jazz. However they refused to do their magic in rock. It was as if the speaker wanted to say "you can try all you can but I'm not singing :KR". Seemingly the Aristas are much much better. Need to audition them sometime.

Have heard the Aritas at a friend's place with a Jolida CDP and a Primare i30 integrated. Wasn't impressed at all. Maybe it was the amp. I've never been impressed by primare.

That must have been the set up! Only yesterday jazzypants came over to pick up a power cord. He also auditoned ARISTA and ARITA. I think he was very impressed, especially by the ARITA's performance. You please give it a try once again.

Agreed. The Aritas were fantastic & totally outperform their size. Little wonder they are priced around a lac today - more like what they should be... the earlier pricing of 50K was a steal!
