hi,
I am based in Bangalore. Can any one tell me where can I find NAD components (amps/AVRs) in Bangalore ? Also just want to know whether NAD is into AVRs or not. I have read from this forum that NAD is a very good performer in Stereo amps front but want to know whether they are into HTs and how do they perform in HT front.
Also let me know who can supply Wharfdale Diamonds in Bangalore ?

Hi abhi,
NAD does make very good AVRs as well, though they are known for their very popular stereo amps.

It looks like it is a little difficult to get a NAD product in Bangalore. But you can try to get it from www.SoundnvisionHifi.com if you are really interested or even the Mumbai based NAD dealer -- LaKozy.

About Wharfdale diamonds, they are good budget speakers which you should be able to source from either Prithvi @ Absolute Phase, Cubbon Road or Mukesh @ Music Ranch, Jayanagar.

Do these people have any shop in Bangalore where I can visit or atleast do they have any kind presence in Bangalore or they just deal online ? How can I get in touch with these people and alos LaKozy in Mumbai ? Any Contacts ?

Abhi,

The easiest way you can get the NAD is to take a holiday to Singapore where the prices are about 30~40% less than anywhere in India.
As far as I know, no one sells NAD in Bangalore and getting it shipped from Mumbai may be a bit risky.

Easier way of buying a AVR would be pick up a Onkyo. Couple of their sets have received good reviews in the latest AVMax magazine. Onkyo showroom is on Cunningham Road.

You can see the Wharfedales at the local Blore dealer - deciBel - Anand - 98867 22937. He has the Diamond 8s and some Quad speakers as well. The Diamond 9s are due any week now.

Cheers
Joy

Hmmm.. I am sure the site was working atleast like a month back.

Try www.soundnvisionhifi.com/BEST_BUYS.htm

Agree with Joydeep about getting it from Mumbai 'cos of support.

But if still interested you could check up
www.la-kozy.com/aboutus.htm

Mukesh/Dinesh, Music Ranch - 26532145 also retails Wharfedales.

Is it that difficult to get a NAD (so popular in HiFi world) in a place like B'lore. I wonder why all these HiFi dealers do not procure it in Bangalore .

Are there any dealers in Bombay or other parts in India who help in getting NAD products shipped to Bangalore with proper care and service ? Will it be advisable to get it that way (without audition). My budget for an AVR is Rs.30,000.

Hi All,

Even I tried a lot to get nad320bee in Bangalore and even called up lacozy electronics, they were not very interested in shipping to Bangalore., but I haven't stopped trying to get a nad, I'm in us, here it is available for around 380$-- nad 320bee, but Manek, Prithvi & Joy told not to buy from US as I may have to go for a voltage converter(which they say might affect the sound quality). Now I'm in a dilemma where to buy it or not in US. I dont want to buy any other amp apart from Nad even if it delays. Can anyone suggest a way out for voltage converters, or How will it be if I go for a high performance voltage converter.

Hi Abhi,

Did U try nad in music ranch(Jayanagar 4th block), as that guy told me once that he can get me nad 320bee(I wasn't interested in nad at that time).
Best of luck for you nad search in blore, If you find one let me know, even I will try!!!

Thanks and Regards,
Hemanth HG.

Hi! All,
I was the dealer for NAD in Bangalore when it was with 10 octaves, but after it went to La-Kozy god knows what they stopped sending stuff. Have tried asking Priyesh (a good friend of mine) but he keeps saying he will send the price list but nothing ever happens. I have lost umteen number of NAD orders. Hence am totally helpful & decided to give up on NAD. All the NADs sold in Bangalore were sold from Absolute Phase.

I still have a T743 AVR, L70 etc. Can give a decent discount on it if anyone is interested.

Another dealer can get it from Singapore for you but he will charge you the same indian MRP.

Rgds

Talking about the av recvr, I heard a nice marantz SR4400 the other day. I quite liked the warm sound. Did stereo very well. Multichannel performance was also very good.

About nad320bee, you could stop over at dubai on your way back and pick it up from there as yo will get the 220 volt version there. Its cheap in Dubai, I was told.

Manek,
Wait till you hear the SR5500, it will blow the pants of the Sr4400. Personally I did not like the sound of the 4400, it sound just like an AVR, was horrible actually on stereo. Not the same case with 5500. Much much better.

Yes thats a good option to get the nad from dubai. They can get it a VV & SONs.

Heard the 5500 as well but did not mention it as it would not be in the price range. Ofcourse 5500 was much better but I quite liked the 4400 marantz as well, to each is own I guess . Yes it did sound like an avr but it did better HT and stereo than similar denon/onkyo stuff.

I think the marantz 4400 was going for 35-38k if I'm not mistaken, I could be wrong.
