which amp to buy ???

I am a new member of this forum from Greece.
I am trying to build a descent hifi system but unfortunately I am on a budget. So I already have Tannoy mx2 loudspeakers and I am planning to buy an amp and a turntable. For the turntable I think that I have made up my mind and it will be Project debut II. Any comments ???

The amp is my problem. Here in Greece there are not so many stores where you can listen to an amp with a certain pair of speakers. Also you cannot find easily any brand you want. So these are my choises and I would very much appreciate your oppinion on them.
Marantz pm4200(pm4400)
Marantz pm6010OSE(no KI)
Creek 4330
Cabridge Audio A500
NAD C350

These are the amps that I found in stores here in Athens and that suits my budget. I am really counting on your answers so please help ...

Hello Johnny, greetings to Greece from Melbourne, Australia!

You should add NAD C370 to your list, this one got a bit more power than C350 (but of course, C350 is very good, too!).
I don't know the others but I think the other members can help with these.

YOur choice of NAD is pretty good though I would prefer the nad 320-BEE or the nad 370. I found was bit harsh..

Marantz is always a good buy anywhere in the world. Nad's which I spoke to you above have a torroidal transformer to give out high current when your systems and speaker needs it. They also have impedence sensing circuitry which either increases current or voltage depending on the requirement so they push a steady amount of power to your speakers giveing youa more well rounded and transparent sound even at high volumes.

try to listen to the marantz and nad - including c370 - amps. they are all good. which of them you buy that decission may also be based on their price and design.

or possibly Arcam products....they are also very good.

thanks manek, thats the brand i've forgot. they make very good amps, too.
but please johnny, listen to them! dont buy an amp without having listened to it!
