Just dropped my Dual CS503-1 (1987 model) from a great height. The platter won't rotate and the tone arm doesn't drop but it looks physically unharmed. I assume it would cost more to fix than to buy a new one. Anyone out there know of an equivalent model/manufacturer? Anyone want any spare parts? The cartridge is Ortofon DN249E.

Dual turntables are still manufactured in Germany by

Alfred Fehrenbacher. An equivalent model is the Dual CS 505-4. You can get it at

phonophono.de.

hi!

i have only just discovered this site, so bear with me for being about a year adrift.

i own two (2) 'dual cs 503-1' that are in good working order, but one is missing its stylus (dn 249e) and also the attachment on the end of the arm into which the stylus fits.

i know that the stylus is available commercially, but am uncertain as to availability of the 'missing' bit.

i was wondering if your offer of parts from your broken machine is still valid.

or

maybe you would be interested in the machine i own with bits missing.

like i say, sorry to be so late on the scene.

Hi,

Unfortunatley I am not able to help you out with parts. I came across your posting when I searched around the net for info on this deck. Just bought one myself but don't have manual or instructions for the deck or cartridge. I was wondering whether you have a manual and if so would it be possible to get a photocopy or scanned image.
