Here is the link to an interesting article in the NY times on digital compression.

Especially relevant to first timers who are trying to grapple with all that is now available off the net.

Cheers

...............and an Indian doctor as the central example! How about that???

What does AIFF (in terms of digital music formats) stand for? it's one of the choices in iTunes.
People are saying that ripping & burning in AIFF sounds better than ripping & burning using WAV format.
Anyone done a comparison OR has experience w.r.t this?
<< BTW, I've been ripping & burning using WAV format so far. Have had excellent results thus far but am wondering if there is a new & better game in town. >>
Thanks!

...and supposedly an audiophile to boot.

On another note been using the AIFF format, but have not had the occasion to compare it with the WAV format.
