Live shows in Bangalore.

It was a wonderful weekend....attended both the shows.

Jagjit Singh Live: Suffered from Poor PA system (lot of echo in the indoor stadium) but it was wonderful listening to the maestro right infront of us. The way he weaves melodies and improvises his own tunes was just stunning. I was fortunate enough to be pretty close to the stage. But I really wished it was held in a better place (something like Chowdiah memorial hall ). Nevertheless it was a long standing wish to watch him live that came true .

Radio Indigo Jazz and Blues Festival: This was a pleasant surprise. I went there with one of our forum member without knowing what to expect...but WOW..what an arrangement!!! The venue was the outdoor garden of a 4 star hotel in Bangalore.
Programme started at 5.00PM on Sunday winter evening. There were 6 different acts performed by 6 different bands consisting the likes of Bob Bonastre and Cafe Du sport. There was cocktail on the house sponsored by Black Dog . Food courts on either side of the Garden. The audience were limited (around 250) but they were tremendous. All of them seemed to be hard-core Jazz/Blues lovers. It was LIVE JAZZ all throughout till midnight . The experience was too good. The bands were all experts and thank God the sound system was decent this time. An unforgettable evening.

That's Arti Rao Shetty a great jazz singer, sister of Sunita Rao the pop singer from Mumbai.
Her sister Kavita is a jazz singer in Switzerland and probably a better singer than her India based sisters.
