Guess what.Rhythm House has started stocking Vinyl again.

Not many but still...

Good News for analogue lovers - what are they priced @ ?
Just for information - I have stopped buying CD's too - moved to computer playback...

I think the lowest priced LP was retailing for aboutRs.990- 1200 and the more expensive ones were about Rs. 3000 +

I haven't seen any, but that that does not mean that they may not have a few tucked away!

Shahrukh tells me that RH has been stocking Vinyls for a while.

Funnily, they only stock stuff marketed by EMI. At least that was my observation. And yes. It's expensive. But at par with what you'd pay if you imported it from amazon and the like.

yes, those prices are expensive but then one has to acknowledge that these LPs are not manuf in India & that they are imported. Is this a bad assumption on my part? 2nd reason for higher prices could be extremely low sales volume.
Here too LPs are rather expensive but some of the mail-order firms do offer some worthy LPs at $10 at times....

That is correct!

Extremely low margins ergo the prices. Shahrukh sez that this is what you would pay if you were to import from Amazon!

Maybe lesser. The Doors Box set costs $129 on Amazon. Add shipping costs to that (this is a box set - heavy).

At rhythm house, it's available for Rs 4,500. Not bad I say.

yup...vinyls are back in a small way...in bangalore as well saw a few in reliance time out and odyssey...like shahrukh mentioned only EMI and warner...the lowest priced one was for 800...titles seen were norah jones, a coupel of the doors, eagles, coldplay, a few of maiden's newer albums (too bad the old ones are not avlbl) and led zep's mothership. there were a few more but i remember only these...
