What's Spinning On Your Deck?

I listen many album over a period of time (say a week)...Last few Audio Cds I bought are (in last 50 days or so)...

The Doors - Morrison hotel (upgraded from tape), Peter Gabriel - Up (upgraded from tape), Deep Purple - Shades of Deep Purple, Gong - You (Radio Gnome Invisible Pt 3), Hawkwind - In the hall of the mountain grill, Moody Blues - To our children's children's children, Allman Brothers Band - Live at Fillmore East - 2 Cd Deluxe edition(upgraded from mp3), Ian Anderson - Divinities (upgraded from tape)...I have listened them all a number of times recently.

Apart from that I am also listening a lot of mp3 albums.
Deep Purple - Made in Japan, Peter Gabriel - Us, Dream Theater - Falling into infinity, Ten Years After - Live at Fillmore, Judas Priest - Hell bent for leather, Iron Maiden - Fear of the dark, Brian Eno - Another green world, Byrds - Sweetheart of the rodeo, Dire Straits - Alchemy live, Queen - A day at the races, Steely Dan - Aja, Delaney & Bonnie & Friends - On tour with Eric Clapton (live) are some of the albums I have listened this week.

I'm listening to a lot of Alan Parsons right now.

Now listening to David Gilmour's on an island...his first solo album in 22 years! Very floydesque but what else would you expect from him? Lots of slide guitars and atmospheric keyboards.

Not up there with the best of Floyd...but a great listen nonetheless...

Ray brown, benny greene, jeff hamilton(trio). quite nice.

Just managed to lay my hands on a rare recording of John Coltrane live at the half note. They just found the master tapes last month. This is a two cd and is really amazing. Some good jazz.

Picked up 'All the Roadrunning' yesterday, a collection of duets by Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris.

I had never heard Emmylou before. She has a very nice voice, kind of like Stevie Nicks. The songs have the typical straits/knopfler feel to them but with a distinct country flavour to it especially in the singing style courtesy Emmylou.

This album has been going round in my car stereo since I bought it. Need to play it on my home system yet.

Presently playing A Distortion of love by Patricia Barber also featuring teh ever amazing Wolfgang Muthspeil on guitar.

This is older album '91, but great.

It is different from her later works in that it has more instrumental pieces, with a few vocal tracks thrown in for good measure.

This is all about Patricia Barber the pianist,composer as against Patricia the song writer.
