Hi guys!
Hello to everybody!
First of all, I would to introduce myself, because this is the first (but not the last!) time that I write in this wonderful forum!
I'm Pietro from Italy and I'm 23 years old.I'm very sorry for not being able to write in your beautiful language.
I'm studying German, but for now I prefer to use English in order to avoid grammatical and spelling errors and I don't want to offend anyone!!!
Like many italians, I love so much your vintage hi-fi production.I'm not so sure if you really know how much, in Italy, we appreciate your technology especially all hi-fi products of the 60s and 70s.
Grundig,Heco,Telefunken,Saba,Imperial,Isophon,ITT and many others manufacturers here are loved so much by us...and unfortunately now the price of these german brands are too expensive.I hope you you are proud of this success!
I think these informations about me are more than enough.
I'm here, because I've a question...and I desperately require your help.
I've a pair of Imperial (made by Telefunken) speakers; unfortunately both tweeters are broken. They're two Heco 25/4.
It's impossible to find an original pair of this Heco tweeter; I spent two years searching for an original pair of Heco 25/4, but in vain.
So now I've decided to search for a worthy replacement for these old tweeters.
Please, help me! I'm so tired...could you recommend me some good replacement model for these Heco tweeters?
Otherwise, if someone wants to sell a pair of original Heco 25/4 please (I beg you! :hail) let me know it!
I'm so desperate and if someone helps me, I'll be grateful for all my life!
Thank you, my friends for being so patient with me!
Best regards from Sicily!
Ciao!!!
Pietro

Dear Pietro,

replacement of the Heco Tweeters ist al little bit difficult, too...
25/4 means 25 mm dia., 4 Ohms impedance.
Replacement Chassis mostly had 8 Ohms.

try to get some "RFT" tweeters, that will be an acceptable Option.

Thank you very much, Andi!
Your message unfortunately isn' t the answer that I wanted to read , but of course it isn't your fault!(obviously
Now, at least, thanks to you, I know what I've to search for!
Unfortunately I don't know the brand you've recommended me:"RTF".
What about it?...Do you think its quality is comparable to the quality of a original Heco component?
Thank you so much again, dear Andi !!!
Grüsse
Pietro

Yahoo, Pietro !

Have seen, that you had moved around different foren to find the tweeters : Hifi-Museum - Heco-Chassis .

Well, the tweeters will be elder than 35 years. So many of the Heco' had been buried at the worldwide " speaker cemetary ". Otherwise the owners will stay their original replacement-speakers in stock for badder times.

Unfortunately my pair of KHC 19/4 will not help you really, because the crossover-frequency will be higher.

Maybe this one Heco tweeter - regarding the special Heco-internal part number - could help you ?

Best regards,
Erik

"RTF" means "Rundfunk und Fernmeldetechnik", founded in the dark days of eastern Germany socialism.
However, they had an lot of ideas instead of material or money-tuned managers.
RTF produced the same types of speakers in an long aera.

Not so expensive, try it, IMHO thex will fix Your Hecos in the same way.

Hi dear Erik!!!
What a surprise!!!...yes, as you can see, I'm trying desperately to find those tweeters!!!
These Imperial/Telefunken speakers belonged to my dear uncle, who died three yeras ago, unfortunately.
He wanted repair the speakers but a terrible desease paralyzed him, so he couldn't do this repair: for this reason now I want to do that...I can't throw these old boxes
In any case, I like so much these vintage boxes...and at that time they were the top of the line speakers (and very expensive) made by the joint-venture between the italian brand Imperial and the german brand Telefunken.
By the way...the name and model of these boxes are: Imperial LB 622,but I remember that in Germany they've been released as Telefunken boxes, but I don'tknow the model.
This is just a personal curiosity: Have you ever see them in Germany? Here, in Italy they're very rare...you can see them here, on the left side of the page:

Thank you very much to everyone!!!
liebe Grüße
Pietro

Hello Pietro!

In many DUAL-Speakers of the early 70s models, Heco devices were used. Look for models CL14x, CL17x for example. These are frequently offered at ebay, sometimes also single driver units. The 25mm-Textile-Dome should meet your needs. The later series like CL380/390 or CL720/730 have also 4Ohm, 25mm domes, but are surely not Hecos. They would do the job anyway, perhaps even better.

If not successful, I would second Andis recommendation and expand it to makers like WHD and WIGO or CANTON. Italian brands also exist. SIPE, CIARE did always make home hifi parts, RCF is more known for PA stuff, I think.

At last, there is a widely filled market with modern drivers. A 25mm-soft dome tweeter can be found at any of the common suppliers. 4Ohm is not always available, but I've seen many 6Ohms. These could fit, if the original tweeter was not a high output type.

Best: Detsi

Thank you very much, my dear friends!
It's wonderful for me to stay here with you...to talk with you... although I don't speak german, unfortunately!!!
But you must believe me: your beatiful language is very difficult to learn, like the italian language of course!!!...in fact did you know that italian and german, are both two of the most complicated languages in Europe?
Luckily they've invented the english language!!!
Bis Bald!
