Midi Hi Fi system

i would suggest u check-out da onkyo hi-fi systems...i had listened to them arnd 5 yrs ago(onkyo was a new name on the scene in india) when i was on the hunt for a mini hifi system for my bedroom...dont remember the model, but they sounded real good...much much better than the main stream sony/aiwa systems...u mite have to stretch ur budget a bit (may b arnd 20k)...cos the one i had seen, if my memory serves me rite, was for 21k in mumbai...

Check out Bangalore Audio Labs. They have a 2 channel amp + bookshelf speakers for around 7K (may be lesser now!). They are a steal for the price . It can give the shelf systems a run for their money. But they arent as compact. I heard their setup in their office in JP Nagar (its closed now ) I heard they shifted to some place near ITPL.
A philips DVD player should serve a decent source.
Their amp has SRS circle surround etc. So it might be good idea if you plan to connect a TV at a later point in time.

I believe they are still available in Cosmic Systems (JC road). check it out!...

I dont know if they have a website.
However, this company is mentioned in SRS website as the first licensee of their circle surround and trubass tech in India. (if you search in google, its the only info that shows up...!!)
They were available in Viveks Jayanagar-Bangalore (not sure if they are now). I remember one of my friends checking out the speakers in Cosmic (JC Road Bangalore).
Infact AV-MAX had reviewed the speakers loooooong back and gave it a "recommended" rating to it...
Bookshelves are around 3.5K a pair...and amp is around 3K...which I think is 25+25W.

Hi guys,
I'm scouting around for an entry level amp + speakers.I'm checking out the Onkyo T8211 receiver and Sony MF550 speakers now.

If I don't like the sound of these then I have to revert to a Sony AZ-2D or an Onkyo Liverpool midi.

I'm from bangalore and have never heard of Bangalore Audio Labs. Do U have any phone numbers?

Can you add up the prices. Will the separates (tape deck, DVD player, amp, and wooden speakers) really come for such a small amount? Then hifi sure is affordable
