Cheers

Where is your problem. I know that many subs ae connecteed via a cinch cable i guess you got an active wofer? So you can use an Y-adapter to connect two diferent wofers!
Hope this does help.

a Y adaptor will definately put load on your amp...better check with your friendly neighbourhood dealer on how to connect two subs and not fry your amp.

Hi Manek,

I cannot support your last mail with the Y Cable.

It (a Y-Cable) is the normal / standard way to connect two amps (whether normal Amps or active Subwoofers, doesn't matter) to one source. That's why the cable is existing
Also in every Subwoofer Manual, this connection is mentioned as the way to connect the second one up.

Some Subwoofer feature even a "Cinch Out" Connection for this purpose. One has to be sure then, it is just a drivetrough connection if a second sub shall be connected via those. Some Subwoofer have an internal LowCut Filter in this connection as they expect to drive satellite speakers from there!

Regars,
Axel

bass-oldie,

Hi....you've taught me something new today..thanks...never thought someone would want 2 subs...one sub is bad enough

I'm not a great proponet of subs as i dont like them too much and dont use them. I believe in towers for bass. I find subs too slow and fatin their voicing....gimme a good floorstander anytime.....even for DVD and home theatre.

Hi Manek,

I do believe in large floorstanders too (have a look into my profile :-).
However, the LowFrequencyEffect Channel does still carry information, which will not sent anywhere else if I do not connect a Sub to it.
That's why I bought them despite the Kappa's ability for good strong bass.

Also, some DVD-Audio records will not play in 5-channel mode if there is no Sub detected (this of course is a fault, but the records exist, though).

Regards,
Ax

seriously ? wont play ? thats getting a bit to finiky about the hardware....!!!!
this is news to me too...

Even if you configure the speakers in the receiver as large the LF channel is supposed to pass all low frequencies to the large configured speakers....atleast thats what a few manuals say....

@Manek: There is a user (Elric) in the german part of the forum, who uses I think SEVEN subwoofers or active bass-modules in his surround-system!

Multiple subwoofers can also be used to solve acoustic room-problems.

yeah but seven ? seven ?

I really find it hard to imagine seven subs in my room. all seven pumping out bas at seven different times....I can believe multiple woofers in the cinema hall...but at home ? Home sweet home ?

dont seven subs play hell with the family crystal ?

Now, they do play, but only in Stereo mode. Which is not what you want if you by a 5.1 channel recording...

I know of some records, only from Warner Music, which have this problem. Its more a DVD authoring problem during the creation of the DVD than the Hardware which plays the record, I was told.
