hi,
yesterday i was at the yamaha dealer in delhi-
i explained to him that i am getting a AVR that requires 8ohm 80 RMS speaker / channel.

To this he said since most of the yamaha speakers are 6ohms so a 100 watt rms speaker if connected to the above AVR would give out about 90 watts -




anyone please explain the impedance and wattage thing-

if 80 watts into 8 ohms = 160watts into 4 ohms but if into 6 ohms then you probably get about 120watts but in commercial receivers this is not the case you get about 95 to 100 max ...at 6ohms...

if its krell monoblocks then you will get exactly about 120watts...
