Nowadays there is a wide range of universal DVD players, which play SACD and DVD-Audio discs, from several manufactures, such as Pioneer, Onkyo, Marantz, Samsung, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Denon, Sherwood, Lexicon, etc. I have compiled a lot of them in my web site:

Nice site for people interested in Universal players. But a Google search does not easily link to your site.

It doesn't even provide any info other than what's on the company's site. It just 'shows' you the products available.

True...but atleast it has a consolidated list. Hope that this site is updated with the contents you suggested. Also, a few links don't work/players are no longer made. Not sure how many of these players are available in India.

Any idea how good Pioneer's DV 585 is? It's one of the cheapest UDPs out there!

I have not listened to this. But a friend purchased it from audioadvisor.com, from where we get free mags on their products every 3 months or so. He is pretty happy with the Pioneer, though he is not a audiophile. I am eyeing it myself to get this product, for DVD playback.

If you are buying it for audio purpose, please don't compare it with stand alone players. But for $125, it is a very nice UDP for non-audio-enthusiasts, who listen to their system by WATTS/channel
