hey guys...

just got a HT (Yammie RX-V457 acquired from abroad & sonodyne Sonus 2605 in transit)...now i need to go for the surrounds...

i m considering bipolar as they seem to be the new rage on the HT scene...what do you guys say...its better the conventional straight way or bipoles...???...and do ya think its wise to go for the same brand (i ll be buying sonodynes for cc as advised buy all in the thread "more of 2ch than ht" in stereo) or not...???

thanx / nindo

Hi Nindo,
There are basically two good options.....
1. Dipoles
2. Bookshelves

Now Sonodyne has both but I am not sure which is better because I personally didnt get a good effect from their dipoles (which i checked in their show room) and their bookshelves I havent tried with a HT setup so cant comment. Basically first you have to see whats the sensitivity of their own dipoles and if you are planning to for dipoles from some other brand then the sensitivity should be similar. Then the tonality....for this you better listen to them individually and decide. Sonodyne bookshelves should be a good option. Wharfdale dipoles were good.

hey abhi...thanx for the rep man...

will checkout the wharfe wh2 bipoles...they are very tempting price-wise...just 6.5k...but need to audition them b4 i decide....sonodynes are abt 10k...i m goin for the sonodyne sonus centre as it would be timbre matched with my 2605s....any way they are gonna coem to life only when i ll be watchin movies...and thats a miniscule part of the time the system's gonna run....

will let u guys know....

if any one has auditioned other bipoles, the opinions are welcome...

thanx / nindo
