Cost of LCD TVs in India ?+A -A |

Hi guys, I wanted to know what the cost of LCD TVs in India is a random sampling indicates approx 1 Lac for a 32 inch LCD The same abroad is about 30% cheaper. Any ideas why or if anyone can tell me where cheaper TVs are available. While on this topic - I wanted to check if Cable-wallahs in India give the signals only thru rf or is it possible to get the cabel signal through better connections. Reason - LCD TVs produce quite mediocre pictures through RF cables. Please do give your inputs. Cheers |

Hi, The cost differential is due to custom duties & VAT. Your best bet for the lowest prices would be large Consumer electronic stores (eg. Vijay Sales, Sony Mony in Mumbai). A reasonable picture quality can be acheived thru the direct to home set top boxes aka Dish TV. Now only if they could provide the SONY & STAR TV channels on it. Regards, Anand. |
