Hello,
I'm Acqua, from Belgium and new to this forum.

I'm looking for some speakers for an upgrade of my home cinema system and that's where I can use some help.

I've searched for the Cyburgs Stick's and i wondered if they are any good for using in a 5.1 setup?
The reason I've chosen de Stick's is bicause there easy to make and verry cheap. It's my first time I on this so i will take it easy and cheap.

Can anyone help me with this question?

Welcome!

I think the Stick will be better than most of the small bricks you get at the electronic discounter.
Although they can can produce rather low frequencies, they are limited to small presure levels because of their small diaphragm. Therefore a subwoofer is highly recommend for home cinema. When using one, I would say the sticks are very good for this applience.

I did build 2 sticks for my brother in Hamburg and he was asking me right away for 3 more because he thought it must be fantastic to use them for sourround.

There even is a stick´s center to be found here on this forum
(i think)

Ok they dont go terribly low but then try it and you will see if that is enough for you. (It sure is for my brother )

let us know what you will do
good luck

welcome aqua,

this one:

http://www.hifi-foru...m_id=104&thread=8862

is a 6L BR with the stick-Driver+ Tweeter. Maybe a good variation to the stick. I think it is the better choice for Home Cinema - cause of the better high frequency response. It is not so "sweet spotty".

If you use a Subwoofer, you can close the BR-vent.In this case the stick is a little oversized, and you dont need to force the little driver down 50Hz. That saves a little more dynamic, when the W4 is exempted from low frequencies.

"Uibel" is going to update the stick with the same Tweeter at the moment. So its going to be very easy to update the stick too.

look here (very fresh, and not ready yet)
