My friend wants to buy an integrated amp: around 40W per channel at 8 ohms to drive his homemade speakers. His budget is low - within 6,000. Can you recommend any specific place on Ritchie (Solaiamman Kovil?) street for second-hand products? I have recently come to Chennai and work at T Nagar. Torvin's (Thankachann?) good stuff but I don't know whether they will cater to such a small budget.

I am a chennaite, but now, i am in bangalore for the past six years. On my next trip to chennai, we will meet. Just opposite to torvin few shops are located. Ask for Rasheed or Sasi's shop (it is a corner shop). U will get plenty of amps for 6 k. A word of caution, check and pick it up. They will be glad to open it and show it to you.

Yes I will try out Rasheed and Sasi. I don't think good records will get any justice from a 2 in 1. (do check my other post on the list of records)
