Hello Folks,

At last i have moved my stereo setup in a dedicated room leaving the HT set up in the living room.
The room is relatively small (11 x 12 x 10 feet). But then i can listen to music without disturbing others or rather others disturbing me :).
Yesterday, i built 4 Bass Traps taking Jon Risch design.
To my amazement the bass traps has given my setup an added life. Now, the sound has more bite and the transients are to die for and i can listen to more minute details
Temporarily i have covered the walls with bedheets hanging like curtains.
I want to know is there any cheap and effective method of treating the walls other than curtains and bedsheets?
Regards

Yesterday made few wall panels and the result is encouraging. I'll make few more and put them at strategic places. The panels will work out cheaper than wall carpets.

No egg crates. I'm married.

A roll of 2" thick fibreglass sheet cost me Rs.950/-.
I still have some leftover after making 4 bass traps and 4 (4' x 2') panels.

How have you placed the panels in your room. Behind speakers ? First reflection points ? How much difference did the panels make ?

Have you done any research on corner triangular bass traps like these. These are different from the large cylindrical ones. They do not occupy much space.

My room, which is more or less sqaurish, bass traps behind the speakers at the two extreme corners made a major difference. Then i made 2 more and put them behind the listening chair at the two extreme corners. Now i have bass traps on all the four corners.
I have put the panels along the side walls.

I found it easy to make bass traps than looking for Sonex type material.
What is more available in market is plain HDPE foam.
