Hi!

I am able to buy a Yamaha AX-596 for about 360 EUR. Would you recommend this? Or is NAD C320BEE still a superior amp?

If you would recommend this, can you tell me some JBL speakers to go with the Yamaha? For some reason I have developed a nasty Yamaha/JBL fetisch...

oh please stay away from both yamaha and jbl unless you listen to al lot of heavy metal stuff. All they do is give people a ear ache.

nad320bee is better than nay amp yamaha can come up with in any price range today.

even if you do go for the JBL speakers....if you have a choice stay away from that amp

I discarded the Yamaha and JBL I had been thinking of, and this is what I probably will go with (if the speakers will provide sufficient bass, this is a must for me):

-Cambridge Azur 640A
-B&W 602 S3

I really want to be able to get the speakers off the floor.

Looks good..but your CDP is very important as well.
the following are good budget choices with very good sound for the BWs

-Rotel Rc02/Ra01 (ra01 is without a remote..ra02 is the same with a remote)
-Nad521BEE/NAD320BEE (Very Good and less expensive)

for a low budget (In case budget is fixed) the Wharfedale diamond series or the slightly more expensive Monitor Audio Silver series are also vey good bargains.

arj is right....hear the options given....you may like them. the nad cdp/amp combo is a killer for its price...no hesitations recommending it at all.
