Folks, Need some help from you on identifying a good digital cable for my setup. I already have the Nordost Moonglo and DH labs Air matrix and both are good but there is more in terms of resolution which i am sure can be achieved One cables which has been suggested is the Stereovox Xv2. is there More you are aware of and heard in terms of neutrality and resolution in the utp 300USD range ? from the termination BNC is the most preferred option ..I found both balanced and Coaxial to be more or less the same |

I am also in a similar situation. Looking out for a good digital interconnect. The Nordost Moonglow is good but is a bit forward and tad bright, otherwise it is a very acceptable cables. Looking out for an interconnect which is laidback but detailed and smooth. Please do suggest. |

Arj, Abhi, digital cable by Luminous Audio Technology. I believe that KB has one & likes it. Talk to him. I have the original HDXV & like it a lot but you have already cited this one & so I cannot re-recommend it! |

Thanks SNV, B'Walla. Chord + luminous audio are added on. another brand is Solitone..have their ICs and really liked them..preferred them over my transparent audio. SNV what is the cost range of the Chord ? As a brand they are usually priced above my range B'walla which is the recommended model of the luminous audio ? regarding
actually you yourselves had recommended the stereovox along with DH labs couple of years back so the thunder still remains yours ! [Beitrag von Arj am 25. Mrz 2009, 02:57 bearbeitet] |

These guys are discussing a matter dealt w/ quite well by Steve Nugent of Empirical Audio in issue #14 of Positive Feedback: http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue14/spdif.htm Altho Steve does mostly hand-waving to show why 1.5m is the best length, I wish that he had provided some measured data for 1m & 2m as well. The oddest thing was that NOBODY in that thread was aware of this article at all!! |

Computer + DAC is the way to go. CD Players are 'finished' !!
Does not come with BNC. Only SPDIF is there. 1.0 M & 1.5M Prices are already with you; [Beitrag von bhagwan69 am 26. Mrz 2009, 18:24 bearbeitet] |

Bhagwanji, What if there is a 'Single Box' product that plays Cds & Sacds and upsamples cds to DSD resolution. Also has Digital inputs to work as a Dac and more importantly it also upsamples to DSD via its digital inputs. (I do not know of any other brand in the world to do so) Regards SNV |

Dear AmpNutJi, Im afraid it is not the Cary Audio 306 Pro cd player that I am talking about. It does most of it but will not upsample 44khz to 192khz or DSD via its digital inputs when used as a Dac. It will sample and play 192khz only when feeded with a native 192khz via its digital inputs. Bhagwanji pls confirm. Regards SNV [Beitrag von SNV am 29. Mrz 2009, 10:44 bearbeitet] |

Thats correct sir. The Puccini cd player, now with a software update, will upsample to DSD via its digital inputs. Regards SNV |

Dear Ampnut, I agree, it does costs an arm and a leg. Well, dCS is regarded as the best 'digital' front end there is. The best is never affordable to most. But with the Puccini, with a retail price of GBP 11k, there are quite a few who can afford it. Regards SNV |
