why is a dedicated cd player said to be better than a DVD player for playing CDs.
Is it the DAC?
If its the DAC,then can i use the DAC of an AV receiver with the digital out of a DVD player, to obtain similar results?[for CDs]

Buying a stereo amp ,instead of an AV receiver will require me to buy a dedicated CD player too, So will an AV receiver with a good DAC and DVD player do the job?

yes the dac built into many revcrs do sound better....its a very nice option.
