I actually own one. It's a 16bits machine driven by a TDA 1541 DA converter.

It's actually a Philips design built in Belgium, but with a seperate analog output stage designed specifically for Mission electronics.

A lot of late 1980's players were based on Philips designs. The Mission DAD7000 for example was in fact a Philips CD-104. And some Marantz machines are actually cheap PCM II's!

Even some of the early Meridian machines were modified Philips systems.

The output stage of the PCM II is a high-end layout and has a high grade component design. On my system it works very well.

don't throw it away, it's a highly regarded machine...it's a keeper!
