Denon vs Marantz

Hi all,
I'm new to this list.
Although this may be a subject that has been exhausted in the past, I was considering the purchase between a Marantz SR-7300 at 1000euros or a Denon AVR-3803 at 1300euros. I would like to match that with a pair of Mission Volare V63's or Mirage Omni 250's.I intend to use the system for stereo use mainly and build on a home theater soon.
Any comments or suggestions?

at first you should try to listen to both og them wired to one of the speakers you want to buy. theres one problem: systems within this price range have a good surround sound but often their stereo sound is just fair. so its very important to test the system in stereo with a good record.

yes sledge is right....choose your spekaers first and then hear both on the speakers.....stereo on this range of amplifiers always is abit bright with lots of treble...mid range is compromised and bass is muddy. So you need to figure out whoch of the two receivers is more tame on the highs, clear and fluid on the midrange and cleaner on bass.

also check for continuous power mode in stereo and see if it matches the speakers load as the receivers do have this nasty habit of clipping at not so very loud levels.

I guess for 1000 euros you should get something that can play stereo good and surround too!
But these other guys are quite right. Listen to all of the things!
