Delhi Meet- 2nd Oct 2007.

We Delhi guys i.e,Viren,Sanjay& yrs truly met at Rahul Pandit(panditr)'s house on Gandhi Jayanti, 11 am to 3 pm.
We first put our heads together to finetune Rahul's speaker placement and then settled down to listen to some music-but first, we were served some juice,and then, when Rahul's Dad, Colonel Pandit, ex The Armoured Corps( The Elite Corps of the Army)joined us, he insisted that we put the juice down, seeing as how it was a lovely Delhi winter afternoon & have some beer-so beer it was, Kingfisher-for the good times- and then onto music.
We listened to some tracks from Virens Jazz Selections compilation-"like a bird"&"Hallelujah"-KD Lang, then some tracks from Road to Hell-Chris Rea, & from Don't some in Bed-Holly Cole Trio, couple of tracks from the movie Taal, & from the Tutti Orchestral sampler.Then we heard Hotel California from Hell freezes Over-XRCD,scuople of tracks from Kodo-Hearbeat drummers of Japan.
I then put on the Rashid Khan CD "Albela Sajan Aayo Re" & Inayat, the Cd of Raag Piloo by Ustad Vilayat Khan.
We also enjoyed Maardi Graas by Paul Simon & its Instrumental version.
In between, Sanjay took out his Nikon Digital SLR, a beaut of a camera, and took snaps of us all-we also stepped out onto the lawn for some snaps in the natural golden light of a winter afternoon , with Rahuls' 2 dogs, Begum-a golden retriever and an Alsatian-(name forgotten),frisking about & posing for portraits.Then back inside for some more music....
While we were thus immersed in music & discussions on what we were listening to, Mrs Pandit, Rahuls' Mom, a most gracious lady, invited us to lunch,where Rahuls' younger brother joined us briefly-he was immersed in the 2nd one dayer!
We were treated to a very lavish & most delicious spread followed by dessert, and then back to the lawn for some more photography.
Thereafter,we took leave with hearts full of good music and great fellowship, and tummies full of delicious food.
Thanks, Mrs & Colonel Pandit, Rahul & Li'l Bro, for a truly great time!

The pleasure was all mine sir. I have since that day been experimenting with the speaker placement and the inputs/suggestions from you, Viren and Sanjay have made my setup sound so much better than I had ever heard.

Thanks for the implied compliment,VC.
But actually, it was the welcome we received& the warmth with which we were treated by Rahul and his family which made us feel great.
Stupendous portraits, Sanjay-you've made me look almost tolerable!

As for snaps of the hardware/software, since hamara Rahul will be getting married on the 24th this month, his focus is going to be on different kinds!

I must commend Shri Sanjay for the excellent pictures. I like the way he has used a flash to fill in. Such precise exposure balancing the natural ambient daylight and flash used to be a really tricky thing in the days of manual SLR’s.

Congrats in advance! Buy as much audio gears and other stuff as you can before tying the knot. Thereafter you will be dealing with what we call WAF.

You are very right about fill-flash photography - its a breeze now. Earlier it used to be pain calculating the ambient exposure and then balancing the flash with it.
