Frage: Reparatur Kenwood CD Player

Hallo und einen schönen Tag (abend) an die Fachleute hier im Raum.
Ich hätte da mal eine Frage,da ich keine ahnung von Reparaturen an Audio Geräten habe.Bin KFZ Schrauber.

Ich besitze einen (alten) Kenwood CD Player DP 1100SG den ich mir in den 80er Jahren für teuer Geld gekauft hatte.
Seit einiger zeit mag er aber keine CD´s mehr lesen. Entweder er erkennt sie gar nicht (CD Out) oder er erkennt sie, zeigt die Tracks an, aber ich kann ihn nicht starten da er den ANFANG nicht findet.
Meine Frage: lohnt sich so eine Rep.? kann ich sowas mit gutem Gewissen in zb. Media Markt Hände geben? Media Markt wird bei Kenwood als Rep. Werkstatt/Händler geführt. Oder hat jemand erfahrung mit Hirsch und Ille??

Alles war irgendwann mal "teuer"..

Wenn die üblichen Verdächtigen wie reinigen des Lasers und schmieren des Gestänge nix gebracht haben, ist die Laserdiode wohl platt.
Gibt kein Ersatz mehr dafür.
Rep lohnt imho nicht.

Hi,

You most likely have a weak and defective laser pick-up.
Many Kenwood CD-players used rather cheap and ordinary Sony pick-up's but not this one.
It has a proprietary Kenwood-laser, partno.: J-910341-05 that you will have a hard time finding and when you do, it will be expensive.
You really only have one option and that is to try to adjust the laser and see if you can get more working hours from it.
Before you do so, be sure that the problem is not just dust gathering on the laser lens assembly. Clean the lens with a cotton-swab, preferably dry. If the player was kept in a room where people smoked a lot, it may be necessary to use the swab dipped in iso-propyl alcohol to remove the layer of tar that build up on the lens.
On the pick-up assembly is a small printed circuit-board with only a few components. One of them is a trim-potentiometer, VR1. This is the potentiometer that adjust the laser-diode current and it should only be adjusted slightly in either direction. Note the initial setting and adjust just +/- 1mm. Obviously there are more advanced ways of adjusting the pot., but then you need to consult a professional and to consider the costs involved.
In many cases an increase in diode-current will compensate for the wear and the player will work again for a while until the (now accellerated) wear catches up with the new setting.

Actually there is another cure. You may replace the laser-diode inside the pick-up assembly but that requires some luck and skils with handtools and is not for the faint-of-heart

In some DP-1100 players Kenwood used a Panasonic LN9705PD diode instead. No way to say what is in yours.

@tri-comp: Certainly it has more than just the current adjustment? I mean, normally that's only the last resort when all the other possibilities are exhausted.

Ich würde folgendes probieren:
1. Testweise hochkant betreiben. Besserung? --> Gummipuffer komprimiert.

2. Wenn mechanisch nichts festzustellen ist und auch die Linsenreinigung nichts bringt, kann man versuchen, Focus-Offset und Tracking-Offset nachzustellen. Das letztere allerdings besser mit Oszi.
