CORRECT SOFTWARE FOR UK INDIVIDUAL SELECTION

I don't think the software you found here is compatible with the UK system. The TV will probably work, but MHEG5 functions won't. Therefore, you will miss your interactive features.

I watch a lot of BBC (from Belgium) and would like to have MHEG5 on my Loewe, but the software I found in this forum has always been without MHEG5. Moreover, I fear that MHEG5 functionality might come at the expense of CEEFAX (Teletext), which I don't want to miss either, because it is still used a lot in Belgium...
Do you have CEEFAX functionality with the MH5 firmware on your Loewe?

Hello almero, thanks for your reply. I do have Teletext functionality but i do not use it so really i dont care if i do not have that. The main problem i have is that series recording and general recording is not reliable and the hard disk just locks up during a recording session. I have to turn the screen off and on to get the screen working again. This has happened since the last software update - it was working correctly before the update. The current software that i am using and having these problems with is:

TV: INDIVIDUAL SELECTION 40 FULL-HD DR+ 100
CHASSIS: L2710
SOFTWARE: V7.2.0
DR SOFTWARE: 3.3.1.A0
DVB DECODER: MHEG-5
DVB SOFTWARE: V3.7.0m

I just really need to know if upgrading to TV V7.8.0, V7.10 DVB is ok to do on my TV in hope that it will fix the problems with the DR+. For your information my dealer's latest software is V7.2 and Loewe Support have not answered in 2 weeks. If you or anyone else can help it would be greatly appreciated.

if you go from a MHEG firmware to a non-MHEG firmware, I am afraid you will lose interactive functions ("red button" and so on)

Isn't there any forum in the UK where Loewe owners help each other with (MHEG) firmware updates?

Looking at your software status I find it strange that your DVB software version is 3.7.0m
That looks like something from September 2007.
If this version is really that old it might explain the problems you have since upgrading the TV software to the much more recent version 7.2
Good practice is to keep TV soft and DVB soft more or less "in sync" with each other.

The latest UK software versions are:

L2710

Software: V7.8.0
DVB MHEG5 V3.10.0M
DR: 4.1.0A0

You can get them by email from Loewe Support (via the UK website). Or write to Sam.Johnson@loewe-uk.com.

Best to ask direct so you get uncorrupted copies and the latest versions. Follow the installation instructions carefully via USB stick! They are fussy about switching the power off properly to reboot the TV after installation.

Hi Gary - thanks very much for the reply !! - it really is a shame there is not a forum in the UK but i still manage to get alot of information from this site regarding my screen ! - Ive managed to obtain the firmware that you mentioned except TV v7.8. At the moment i am running :

TV V7.2.0
DVB V3.10.0 M
DR S/W 4.1.0A0

Unfortunetly my dealer has only V7.2.0 and he is very difficult to chase for the software releases but i will try and get V7.8 TV from one of the other people you suggested. Do you know what changes were implemented in V7.8 TV ??
