Hi,

Has anyone checked out this product? They claim to make Stabilisers that improve the sound from all sources. They have a whole load of testimonials at the site.
Check out www.dakiom.com

If someone has used it, appreciate a feedback.

Hi ckn,

This looks more like a zobel network. Thats the reason why they ask the user to check out whether the amp can handle capacitive loads. This is only my gut feel, I am open to correction.

Regards.

I wanted to start a new thread on this, but when I searched the forum,I saw this thread.

Please get this stabilizer first,I can not emphasize the imrpovement's you will get in the set up.
I just bought a stabilizer for two channel amp,and my simple Lafayette int.amp is anything but musical, musical and musical..beyond words.Music simply flows out of speaker boundries, first time I saw what does a speaker disappear means.
And if you are unsatisfied, you can return it.
I have bought an Magnum Audio IA 170SE,will let you know how it gels with it,in next week.
But I can vouch for this thing in no uncertain terms.(Planning one for the CDP
Give it a try,and the set up will not be the same again.
Thanks.

Group,

After my last post asking for views on Dakiom stabilisers did not really elicit much of discussion, i went ahead and bought one. I must say I am very glad that I did so.

The improvement in Soundstage was nothing short of dramatic! It also increased the clarity, the volume (at the same setting). The only downer I thought was that the treble got clipped a bit. But can live with that as the difference is marginal in most of the rock albums I listen to. It is however a bit pronounced when playing something like Shakti-havent figured that out yet?

But I feel it has certainly improved the quality of my output ( I bought one each for my monoblocks). I have now ordered two more of them (one for the CDP and the other for the preamp). It should be in by middle of this week. Will post on findings after trying it for a week or so.

Please go through the Dakiom's Patent paper's carefully,it's been explained beautifully.
http://www.pandathumbaudio.com/download/Patent1.pdf
http://www.pandathumbaudio.com/download/Patent2.pdf

This device is connected at the output of an amp/cdp/receiver based on different configuration.

Arj-I believe you are referring to Magnum Dynalab(known for tuners),mine is Magnum Audio(UK) brand Amp.
I play them with Criterion 50,made by Lafayette.
I am waiting for my new amp and the second Dakiom(for CDP),can't wait for couple of days!!!
Will keep posted.
Thanks.

Behram, You are perfectly correct.

The Patent document says its an alternate to the Zobel network, but uses Capacitors that are 'switched' in or out.

The switches are often Zener Diodes and the like, that start to conduct when a particualr voltage level is reached.

Cheers

The gadget is available from Dakiom website only....not in India.....the website lists the costs of each item....

If you get it by mail then you will be slapped with 50% customs duty. So it is better to ask someone to get it from the US....items is quite small (size of a mobile phone) and hardly weighs much...so whoever is bringing it in should have no issues....

I checked with the co and they were willing to under invoice it if you asked....only problem is the Insurance...if the parcel goes missing in transit then you will have to take the hit....

Guys,
After adding second Dakiom in the system(this one for the CDP),and a new int.amp(Magnum Audio),it is wow!!
Music just floats/flows in the room.Iam scrambling for more CD's..
Begin with one Dakiom for the amp,you will be shocked to see the improvement.
Gradually you can start adding one for CDP/mono's etc.
Thanks.

Second that opinion. Just got my next set of Dakioms and they make my system come quite alive.

Strongly recommend that you get them. Start with one. They have a refund policy too so if you think its not so hot you can always send it back.
